My beautiful fiance and I decided to have our anniversary dinner here since it was supposed to be a restaurant with delicious food and an even better atmosphere.
The atmosphere here doesn't disappoint. It was full of fun hand painted signs, old farming gear, severed animal heads, and much much more. If you like the whole old west vibe, this is the place for you. Did I mention fire pits for s'mores? No? You can purchase a s'mores kit and roast them right on your own fire! I give a 5 star in this category.
The service here was just ok. The hostess at the podium wasn't very friendly. She wasn't mean or anything. She just wasn't very personable. She would get distracted and look away while I was talking to her and ignore me. The waitress was very friendly but never refilled our drinks. Also, we were done with our food for quite a while before she asked if we were done. Normally I could excuse this, but she checked on the table next to us at least 3 times before acknowledging us.
Now, on to the food. For an appetizer, we tried the fried pickles. They were pretty good, although one of the pickles was burnt. For the main dish, I had the $40 ribeye with cream corn, a dinner roll, and asparagus. The asparagus was delicious! It was still a little crunchy, and that's ok with me! The dinner roll was pretty basic. I only ate half of it due to it being very dry and tasting store bought. Actually, the pre-made rolls we buy from the store are better. Lastly, the steak. It was very mid. I ordered it medium rare. It was medium well. I could not taste any seasoning on it amongst the large amount of char on the outside. Honestly, it tasted like an unseasoned hamburger. I added some salt and pepper to it to make it taste a little better. I would expect A LOT more from a $40 steak.
I'm sorry to say this, but I don't think I'll be back. The food was WAY too expensive for the quality you receive. It's disappointing to go somewhere "special" for an anniversary dinner and the restaurant ends up being an overcrowded place where you pay double the price of somewhere that could've actually...
Read moreNot sure what I expected but this was not it. This place is a hot mess, unclear where to place order, can't hear anyone over the music that's played - this is good and bad, good so you don't have to hear other people but bad when you can't hear the person taking your order. Alcohol sold at the bar separately from the food order window - such an inconvenience, I chose to just skip on a drink. Outdoor seating is a little cramped. We weren't given a buzzer like everyone else when our order was placed so we had to stand at the pickup window and wait for our food. They want you to tip just for taking your order although it isn't brought to you or anything, hard pass. Each meal is highly overpriced compared to other restaurants, and it says it comes with a list of sides but they don't exactly tell you what you are actually getting. I took my wife here because she had gone in a pre-covid world and had a really good experience, I guess like most places and things, it has lost its magic. She was unfortunately also highly disappointed by the whole experience. Once we received our food, We chose to sit outside and were helped to get a fire in our fire pit going which was good until we had kids with inattentive parents playing around our fire pit throwing random objects into it and swinging the marshmallow pokers around with flaming objects (not marshmallows) on them. An employee walked by a few times but let them continue. Another kid was filling a beer bottle with dirt and swinging it around making a cloud of dust where we were trying to eat. The portion sizes were relatively small and the chicken from my jack Daniels BBQ chicken plate was bland, helplessly smothered in some cheap kraft "Jack Daniels" BBQ sauce. My bread roll was as hard as the wood chips on the wagon, Thankfully my wife was a little luckier as hers was a little softer. The creamed corn was really good though, no complaints there. The atmosphere is OK but I wouldn't say it's worth wasting money there to enjoy it. Personally, I could have had the experience I wanted for the same price or less at my local...
Read moreI’ve been here a few times but this time was not up to par and for a Monday night, it wasn’t that busy to excuse the service we got. The Cosmo cocktail was a huge disappointment, firstly for $10 I expected more than a thumbnail amount, and in a plastic cup!!! I mentioned to the server that one person in our party was the Birthday guest and I would take care of their bill and if they could make their meal special I’d be appreciative. The service and food was terrible - my steak had to be returned as undercooked to the style I asked for, and by the time they brought it back my other items had gone cold ….the dinner roll was missing on our guests plate - but they had the butter on the plate so was told the reason was they may have run out of the bread but after a waitress walked past with some after we had to ask again and miraculously we got one! We never got asked if our meal was good or if we wanted anything else and then she came and slammed the bill for each on the table after I had asked that I got my guests for her birthday - there was no birthday recognition in any form from the server. The prices have jumped so much since my last visit that it really doesn’t warrant $100 for two for a shared starter, and two standard steaks - more value and service from the Texas Roadhouse! It wasn’t busy but a number of people complained on waiting for their tables and food - if you sit outside you have to wait in a line to order and that can take upto an hour! Sadly, we...
