Against my better judgment due to poor service in the past, tonight we went to Waddell's for our last night of living in Arizona. There were only about five cars in the parking lot. After sitting at a table for over five minutes, a waitress walked by and smiled as she passed us on her way to clean a table. There were only four other tables occupied so I'm not sure why it was so important to clean the table without stopping to see if we had been helped. She walked back to the kitchen to drop off the dirty dishes, and we didn't see her again. We waited for a couple more minutes while trying to catch the bartender's eye. Bartender walked out from behind the bar, straight passed us to a large party and asked how everything was going. That was it! After being ignored for over ten minutes, we got up and left. We've tried to give them several chances over the 2.5 years we lived in the area, but have been disappointed every single time, either by the extremely poor service, the so-so food, or the mixed drinks that just taste like the mixer. They really live up to their slogan of "Warm Beer, Bad Food, Lousy Service." I think the only way they stay in business is because it's the only place to go in a...
Read moreI used to be a regular when it was under the previous owner. I’m am so saddened to see what has happened to this bar under new management. The last 4 times I have been here it was extremely boring. No DJ, no band, and poor music choice over the radio. While I understand people can choose their music, I feel that it’s kind of odd to put rap music in a country bar when it doesn’t pertain to karaoke or line dancing. I put a 2 for service because while our server was fabulous and we have no complaints about her, I do want to complain about it being a Friday night and there is only 1 server. The 2nd bar bartender was having to help her but it wasn’t enough help. It was great to see the teamwork but upsetting that management would allow their employees to feel overwhelmed and customers irritated with the long wait times. The food tasted amazing as always but it was probably frozen before since it was just shrimp and beer fries, by the way don’t change who you get them from, they’re good. There was 0 dancing and that used to be my favorite thing about this bar. Sadly, I’m not too sure if or when I will...
Read moreI love the location, and the burger was good, fried pickles were awesome. They charged $8 for a weak rum & coke. The hours need to be update under their google info, they are way off. It is "cash only", so that was unexpected (they provide an ATM machine, with a five dollar fee). They could use a better A/C system or better air flow. They didn't have that many people, yet it felt really congested, and people were constantly bumping into us to pass by. It would be nice if there was more room for the dance floor, with narrower (bar like) tables/chairs around the dance floor. I wish they would offer a younger dance instructor who could promote some younger dance partners; it kind of felt like I was at an assisted living facility social gathering, and I am old. There were many younger people on the sidelines as it got later, they were just waiting for better music. Once the more current songs came on, they came out. Maybe they could hold an 80-90's music hour earlier in the evening (or even one whole separate night) and then merge in the more current songs as the...
