We went to JJ‘s Buffalo Bar and Grill after we hiked so we could feed our faces. I always love looking for the best burger ever and the ones here were delicious.
I ordered a patty melt as I always do when I go to a place that has them. To me, if you get a great patty melt, you can be pretty sure that everything else on the menu is amazing. My food was so good! It was served on Texas toast and nicely grilled it came with seasoned fries. I’m not really a huge seasoned fries fan, but they were good, hot and crispy. It also came with a cup of sauce. It was kind of like thousand Island dressing, maybe it was thousand Island dressing. I wasn’t sure what it was for necessarily. I did dip my sandwich in at one time that was tasty. I also dipped a couple french fries in it, that was tasty as well. I’m not a huge sauce person although I did want to try it.
My husband ordered the buffalo burger. He said it was really good. The only thing that he didn’t like is that it came with cheese and he’s not a huge fan of cheese. We both had iced tea which was good and refreshing after hiking two trails.
After we were finished with our burgers, we decided to split a caramel brownie. It was so yummy. It came with vanilla ice cream that was also drizzled with caramel sauce.
We had excellent service by Viki. She was friendly and attentive, and she kept our iced teas full.
We must have been early for the day because we were the only table inside. But a whole pile of bikers drove up as we were leaving so I hope they had a nice busy day because they deserve business. Their food was so good! I love the way they named their burgers.
It is a sports bar and they have several TVs that were all tuned to different sports.
It was a great lunch and we will...
Read moreThe food was mediocre, not even worth driving there. Smokers and smell of cigarette at the entrance, the place was somewhat busy but the bar was full. There was a karaoke night if you are into that stuff? Indulge.
The service was non-existant. Took an hour and 30 min to get our food (we were 4), the tables were dirty and sticky, and nothing was hot, except for my salad that felt like it had been sitting on a counter for hours. The onion rings tasted weird, the chicken wings? Mushy and covered in sauce, drenched even! The buffalo sauce had my husband call them the worse he ever had. The parmesan boneless bits were okay but not hot at all. The fries were well seasoned but again? Nothing was hot---- all lukewarm. No refills until we had to mention it and multiple times, plates are too big and in plastic! Trying to make things look nice but there is so much waste with the garnish that its ridiculous. They pretty much give you a free salad when you order with how much there is in the bottom of the plate.
Nothing was impressive, nothing was unedible but 6.50$ for a salad is robery, especially when it got nothing on it but stuff you can buy already premaid at the store and make yourself at home better, and cheaper. It tries to make itself look gourmet, but its all facade when poor service can't even bring your food at the correct temperature or even the right order.
This place seem still like a cool hangout for local people, which is what it looks like. They all looked like they knew each others, so it make sense. Don't do a detour for this, really you can find better dinning...
Read moreI would give zero stars if that were an option. I had heard and read about how good the food was, so since we were driving by about 2 pm, we were hungry and stopped in. It was not busy...I counted customers at 4 other tables. We stood by the door for 2 to 3 minutes and wait staff scurried around ignoring us. Finally one hollered from the back to sit anywhere. We sat down and waited to be served. Nothing. No menus, no offer for drinks. There were 3 servers moving around, going to other tables, cleaning around the bar, one delivered an order. My wife went to the ladies' room. Still no acknowledgement that we were even there. Finally I saw one server coming toward us, but instead of stopping at our table, she passed us by and began cleaning another table. When my wife returned, We got up and walked out. Not sure if they even saw us leave. Went up the road to Daisy Queen and as usual, were greeted, seated, and waited on with friendliness and helpfulness. As usual, they were glad we were there....
