I visited Ellie's at the Airport on Sunday afternoon. I chose this location because of so many good reviews and the unique location. We were a party of 2 and I called ahead to check the wait - there was no waitlist. My friend arrived shortly before me and I arrived just after 11 am. My friend sat at a table under the patio cover and was given water and a menu. Shortly thereafter he was told it isnt safe to sit there and was asked to move. He noted the server pointed at another table and told him "you can sit there." Friend noted we didnt want to sit in the sun and the server remarked there are umbrellas and walked away. My friend moved our drinks and menus to the other table, then the umbrella was opened by a staff member. We waited at our table for over 40 minutes (checking twice for a server to take our order) before our order was taken. We ordered a salad and a sandwhich. It took 30 minutes to get the salad and another 15 minutes to get my sandwhich. (Yes. It took about 1.5 hours to be served a salad and sandwhich) My friend asked me if they had to go buy bacon for my sandwhich. I laughed and told him they were waiting for the sourdough starter so they could make the bread. The food was decent. The service was disappointing. The location is unique. It was fantastic to be able to watch the planes take flight and land. There were old military bombers and an old military surveillence plane flying today. The wind was high. It was blowing napkins, straw wrappers and salad away! It would be good for the owners to consider acrylic or glass wind breaks around the patio. Overall - I'm disappointed.

We ended up at Ellies because a cashier suggested it while we were out and about. It was a Tuesday morning and it was busy. We sat in the lobby for quite some time before we were noticed and greeted. But they were busy and we were not in a rush. It's probably a good sign that the food is good if a place is that busy on a Tuesday morning. We were sat and our waitress was friendly. My daughter got strawberry pancakes- a short stack. I got a mini B&G breakfast. The pancakes are big, a short stack would make even an adult very full, lol. They were pretty good too, a nice texture and had a bit of chew and didn't get soggy with syrup and toppings on them. I had ordered my single egg over medium and it arrived a barely over easy. I'm really not a fan of the white not being cooked and snotty, but it's such a regular occurrence at many places, I'm just used to it, so I put it over my crispy hash browns and mixed it together so I could pretend it wasn't as raw as it was. The gravy on my biscuit was pretty tasty though. Overall it was good, but just like anyplace, you might not get your eggs cooked right. We will probably revisit but not if we're on a timeline. Try Ellie's if you are not in a rush.

This place was suggested to me as a great breakfast place, and it definitely didn't disappoint at all. I came with a group of five and got a variety of things, yet mostly breakfast items. I had the Danger Zone, biscuits with chicken fried steak and country gravy, with country potatoes. Someone else ordered The Maverick and they were in heaven. Another person had the fish and chips, they said it was alright, they just weren't excited about it. The next person had the mini breakfast and said it was just perfect for them. The last person had an individual Belgian waffle and was divine for them. The ambiance of the place was pretty nice and I can only imagine it's even better come summer tires and the clouds part. I'd highly recommend someone go here if asked because for the most part the experience will be good to wonderful.

Such a cool spot for breakfast, lunch or brunch! Right on the airport grounds, watch planes land and take off.

You can tell a place is good when there's a constant wait. Thankfully our brunch timing was on the tail end of the Easter Sunday rush and only waited about 10 minutes. Larger parties after us weren't as lucky. They seem to only be able to accommodate one 6+ group at a time. The minus one star is for the wait time on server greeting and food. They were winding down from a busy surge, which I can understand, but saw a single diner get his food 15 minutes before us when he was seated a good 15 minutes after our party of 2. He seemed to be a regular, so that could've also had something to do with it. We will definitely be back, hoping long service times aren't the norm.

Menu options were exactly what we were looking for which made it difficult to decide which to indulge - breakfast or lunch. The 'Sides' menu allowed us to try the biscuits and gravy without committing to a full plate, which we found the gravy to be bland. However, we were not disappointed in our final selections of the Seafood Benedict and B-52 breakfast. Poached eggs in the benedict were perfection, and they did not skimp on the hollandaise. The B52 is definitely the cure for both starvation and hangovers, with its 6-piece serving of 2 humongous pancakes, toast, bacon, sausage patty, hash browns and 3 eggs your way.

Aside from watching take-offs and landing of various aircraft, it was super cool to see tables walk over to the adjacent airplane parking lot and take off into the sky after their meal. Clearly this place is frequented by patrons and...

For the second time in a row we have NOT had a positive experience. It was a beautiful morning and my wife (who is disabled) wanted to sit outside at the airport Ellie's. When we arrived I waited to have my name put on a list for quite a while. Instead of my wife coming inside with her walker I had her sit at an empty table outside which had an umbrella. Right where we wanted to sit. When their ace host (Jake) finally got around to seating us. BTW, he seated and served beverages to a dad and 2 kids who came in after me. He directed us to a corner table with no umbrella. When I mentioned that it had no umbrella he came up with a story of how it blew away last night. When I questioned him of what was the problem with the table we were at (with umbrella) he stated that those 2 tables were reserved for "waiting guests" !!!! EXCUSE ME ??? Are we CHOPPED LIVER ??? there were no patrons waiting to be seated. We were then directed to a table inside. Once inside my wife again questioned the "Host" Jake as to why we couldn't sit outside. His response this time was he didn't have enough servers to staff those 2 additional tables. Therefore he lied to us with his first excuse. Keep in mind that the table my wife and I had sat at outside was no more than 6 feet from a table that was being served. This is the 2nd time that this KID (Jake) has not allowed us to sit at tables that were empty on the outside patio. The food was very good but this 15 year old kid will never PISS us off again. We won't ever...
