Ventana Grille — Restaurant in Arlington

I can no longer recommend this place. It used to be amazing and the past year its gone downhill (even pre covid). The entire staff seems to be only teenagers with a lack of experience. I've never seen a manager on site.

They have kids mixing drinks which are always sub-par. Either absolutely no alcohol or way too much. It's disheartening to pay $12 for margaritas that are either are so bland or so stout you can't choke it down.

The food now seems like they just take it out of the freezer and microwave it. We recently had a table of 6 and sat around for 1hr 30min before we finally got up and asked them take our order. They only had one waitress working and it was not that busy.

I ordered a chicken fried steak and while they were bringing out the food to the rest of the table they brought a dry steak and told me "sorry they were out of gravy... ". They offered some other sauce I'd never even heard of. Seriously? You can't whip up simple gravy? My 8 yo son knows how to make gravy.

About the only thing this place is good for is grabbing a beer after golf. (Mainly because it's in a can and they can't alter the taste) Pass on the food....

We are out at Tierra Golf Course at least twice a week for our son, so we typically visit Ventana Grille, at least for a quick drink.

The chips and queso are a good snack. The chicken strips are a go-to for my son, and I personally like the burrito bowl.

They have a full bar, although don't go fancy with your drink order as they typically are not staffed or equipped for anything beyond basic drinks, which is just fine for us!

They run food specials daily, but I would love to see some kind of regular happy hour, too!

Ordered philly...meat was like rubber. Sent it back. Ordered special of the day "patty melt". I do not care for rye so asked for on sourdough. The melt came to me in rye. I was then told they do not have sourdough. I ordered toasted white and added lettuce and tomatos. The veggies were cooked. Who cooks lettuce and tomatoes??????? The meat was horrible. I am hoping they did not add a little of their own personal spice as they did not like returns. Put it in a box. Hoping my dog does not get sick if I decide to give it to him.
