New Lancaster Valley Wilderness Lodge — Restaurant in Armagh Township

We have been here once last year and LOVED IT. However, this time around we drove 40 minutes to specifically visit this place for their wings and when we got there we had the absolute worst service I’ve ever received at a restaurant. First off we sat ourselves on the stage area which is fine except we waited at least 15 minutes with no one coming up to us so I finally asked the bartender if someone was coming over.. When the waitress finally came we ordered our meals and drinks which all came out okay… BUT i never saw the waitress after that. Finally i tracked her down so I can order something to go and she gave us a menu and again disappeared. After waiting 10 minutes for her to return, I again walked up to the bartender and asked if I could just place the to-go order with her and also for a coke because our server never asked if we needed anything, or if our food was even good. The bartender did place our to-go order and got me a drink and was actually awesome. After we received our to-go food we once again waited and waited. No check. A woman who I assume was the manager came up to us and I asked her for the check, briefly mentioned how awful our service was and she seemed to not even care. I understand this place gets busy but it wasn’t at the time. We didn’t wait for a seat and the restaurant was not full. While I think this place has the best wings in MiffCo, I would rather have decent wings at Wingman’s and get quality service than drive 40 minutes to be ignored. Never again. Some people I know have raved about this place. I have yet to see the hype. Three visits here and I have no intentions of going back. First visit was ok. Just sat at the bar, had a few drinks, and wings. No complaints. Second visit, they seemed to be out of everything we came up with to order off the menu. They were not busy and service took FOREVER. The waitress was also a fill in and made that clear to us. As an excuse for lack of experience or something. The third visit, again, they were out of a few options. I got the salmon special. My wife got ribs. My salmon was pretty good. But small piece for the price. My wife's ribs were burnt, her salad was missing a few contents that the menu said it had. My food came out 15 minutes before anyone else's did. Including my starvings kids food... And we all know how that goes.. service was relatively poor. Food took a long while to come out, wait staff seemed very confused and unorganized.. we were not the only ones having meals come out so spread apart. I can only imagine how unorganized the kitchen is. The food itself is not terrible by any means. But the service has always lacked. Was there about a year or so ago with inlaws. Food was awesome and service was great. Tonight my inlaws want to go there again. Service was fine at first but then he forgot my wife's mint ice tea and when the food came out my daughter didn't get her meal. We said something and he keep waiting tables. Finally we said something to the manager and he left and went to the kitchen but still nothing. We were pretty much done when my daughter got her meal (cheese burger and fries). He never ask about anyone for a second drink. Then at the end they tried to make us pay for a drink we never got and a meal that was really late. Wow, what service! Food was all right.
