I would give zero stars if I could........ This place has gone down hill! It is sad to see how some people treat customers. We ordered 4 plates and it totaled $83, this is not about the outrageous prices it is about the sorry excuse for a owner. The lady who ran my card for the order ran it for over $833, what the heck. Mistakes happen but how you handle things is what I have an issue with. The lady runs and gets a guy to help fix the problem of them taking 833 dollars from my account. Now this guy says his name is Lo and he is the owner. If that is true you would have got the transaction reversed and gave us a discount or the order free due to them taking all that money. This guy who claims to be the owner calls the card company to get walked through how to return my money which can take time for the $833 to be back in my account and then he says so how are you going to pay? Um I just tried to and now you expect us to pay full price now with what is cold food. Wow and he expected me to be ok with running my card again after they put my account to 0/negative. So I asked him and how am I supposed to pay for the order now after doing what they did to my account. Now I am sitting in the negative with no way to pay besides overdraft my account even further and the ower said let me run your card again. WOW is all I could say, so my husband came in and paid full price for this now cold food. The owner NEVER apologized or offer anything to say they were sorry for the screw up. Now finally home I find cold food and warm coleslaw (also for 4 plates we did not get all 4 coleslaw either). The oysters had no flavor at all, the hush puppies were nothing but grease and the popcorn shrimp were just nasty. I am so shocked in the lack of care for a customer, the lack of professionalism and the lack of quality in the food. The charge has been reversed and may take a couple of days to drop off the account but that was the ONLY thing they did right is...
Read moreGood friends of ours, invited us to join them, this Sunday afternoon, for lunch at Mayflower. We have eaten here 3 times before and enjoyed good food , friends and fun. Today, we had a bad experience, beginning with a greater than 45 minute wait. Our friends made the enquiry of where our food was, very politely. A few more minutes expired when our friendly waitress brought all but his meal. My wife and my ground steak came well overdone and since we were running late, we mentioned our meat was too well done, but since time was of the essence , our friend asked if we could get a discount in lieu of replacement meat. The manager came to our table and stated since we already ate our baked potato and salad, and chose not to get a replacement, she would give us a 20 percent discount. I'm 65 years old and have eaten in some nice establishments, but never had a 'bad meal' prorated with the main entree valued at 20 percent discount...what happened to the customer satisfaction. Instead, a rude debate between the manager telling us she offered a re-steak for their mis-take and ...oh well, why should we wait longer, we already heard another customer, next table over, knocking her knuckles on an overdone steak?? I tried to get the manager to put herself in our predicament, but the whole idea of making a customer happier and the thought of unhappy customers down playing any good advertisements about their Mayflower restaurant, seemed to drift aimlessly over her head. The lousy meals cost us $2 less than a quality one but the poor advertising, mouth to mouth...PRICELESS ! We probably won't eat there again and if asked, we will recommend...any place but...
Read moreWe've been customers for 17 years, but no longer. This visit kept us waiting 45 minutes for food. The server took the order but was clearly not trained or she simply couldn't handle all her tables. She messed up our drink order and it went down from that point. We finally had to request our entrees be boxed b/c we had an appt. to keep. So, she brought the food dishes to the table and said she would bring boxes for US to box up. Again, we had to wait. So, 1 of us went to pay the check and the clerk was told about the horrible service who called the mgr. to the front to hear about our dining experience. The clerk suggested to the mgr. that 1 of our meals should be compensated b/c of the length of the wait and poor service. The mgr. told the clerk to give us a gift certificate and we later saw when we opened the envelope that he approved a $5 comp. on a $22 check! It was just another slap in the face on top of everything we'd just experienced. Management certainly doesn't care about how customers are treated, but I wonder if the owners of the Mayflower would care how management is taking care of their holdings. I called the manager personally the following day to share my concerns about his poor judgment re: our complaint. So sad, we've been long time customers and there have been times over the years when the dinner wasn't perfect but we overlooked those occasions and still supported the restaurant and its staff. But this time? It showed us our business isn't appreciated and we'll spend our dining...
