Midway Restaurant & Pizza — Restaurant in Ashford

First visit after the reopening. Very nice clean and fresh atmosphere. Large bar area and large section of booths. Plenty of parking. No dress code. I noticed two waitstaff, two managers and a bartender. Some room for improvement would be in the area that follows. One manager was very confused with juggling between running staff, answering the phone, taking to go orders and filling to go orders. You can tell this is their first restaurant. Hire someone to strictly work the register. Orders that are to go and pick-up need to be treated differently then dine in. Sit down customers are already there and willing to wait. Walk in will not come back in they wait to long. 30 minutes for a to go cold grinder might not seem long for some but it is. Manager should worry about smooth operation not working registers. Hide the confusion. All the food coming from the back looked delicious. Just lack of order in the place. Spend money up front to keep it coming in. Fix this and five stars could be in reach. Food (4/5): we ordered the following three items-1. Chicken parm sandwich (3.5/5), Chicken Cesear salad (5/5) and Turkey club and fries (2/5). The Turkey club was barely warm when we received it. The salad was one of the best salads I've ever had, with freshly grilled chicken and freshly shaven Parmesan cheese.

Service (2/5): We stopped in randomly from a road trip and were surprised at how disorganized it was to get our food. We placed our order when there was only one person in line. However, we waited over twenty minutes for our food. We weren't told it was ready. We were only given our food when we followed up about our wait. By that time some of our food was barely warm.

On a positive note, the staff were friendly and nice!

My husband and I stopped today for lunch, at approximately 1:00 pm. Barely any cars in the lot, which isn't a good sign. We had eaten here many times before the restaurant was sold and had new owners...never a problem. Today we went into the lounge where there were just two other tables with customers, who were adult men. The new owner was tending bar. I don't even know if the restaurant section was open or if there were any other employees working. We were never greeted. The owner gave one table menus and bypassed us. The table to our left were drinking, belching men. The table to our right were loud mouthed men dropping the "F" word. The owner did/said nothing. We left and we won't be back. This restaurant deserves no stars but I couldn't post this...
