Terrible. The wait is long and in the winter you will be waiting outside. They kept two tables pushed together empty while several groups waited in line. Four groups left while we waited. I asked why they weren't seating people at the table and she got nasty and said she'll run her business how she wants. She said they leave it in case a big group comes. We ordered and waited a long time before it came. My son ordered eggs over medium, home fries and white toast. He got scrambled and white toast. I asked a different waitress for the home fries. Then we realized that his eggs weren't over medium. I told our waitress/hostess and she argued with me that he ordered scrambled. They brought over his egg over medium. My other sons toast was burnt. She never came over once to ask how our meal was. She never asked to refill my coffee. I had to stop her to ask for a refill. When she came with the refill I said thank you so much. She never spoke, a real witch. She would just drop the dishes on the table. Really bad. Snotty server. I left a penny for the tip. The service was terrible. She had an attitude the whole time. She came out as we were leaving and yelled to me to not come back. Don't worry I said, I was't going to. Just an...
Read moreMy family is deeply rooted in Ashford and we have enjoyed going to the Wooden Spoon once if not twice a week for years. A special Sunday ritual for my husband and myself until just recently. First of all the Wooden Spoon was first come first serve for years and the new owners now have changed it to a wait to be seated. No problem their. It was after my husband and myself sat at the counter and the owner rudely told us that was also a wait. Since when are breakfast counters a wait, the etiquette for a counter is always first come first serve. Either way we would of had no problem with the new rule however after being told so rudely by the new owners and after being such an advocate for their business we are very upset. The new owners should take a better notice to who their regulars are and not to mention we always tip the staff very well.I even called to express my dissatisfaction and the owner became argumentative and spoke over me. POOR Hospitality for how often we go. We will...
Read moreGreat place for breakfast. Went in after hiking the NipMuck Trail. Nice atmosphere and food was sensational. For breakfast 100% would recommend chicken fried steak and eggs.. it was perfect and tender. Breading was flavorful and gravy just right. Our waitress Sophie was polite and attentive. Appreciated her positive spirit and smile. The receptionist or greeter was not there when we arrived and we were advised to sit anywhere. Once she did arrive, she made us feel a bit unwelcome with stare downs and just awkward comments. I think the lady with the accent could learn a lot about treating people right from the waitress Sophie. I would go again. But definitely not want to sit anywhere near the greeter...
