Henry's Place — Restaurant in Ashland

Wow. We had just finished taking a hike around the reservoir at Ashland State Park, which is a lovely walk, but a little more challenging than we thought. Given all the roots and rocks on the part of the trail that's close to the water. So, we were hungry and tired, and checked Google for someplace close by. Henry's popped up with very high reviews, so we figured we'd try it out and were flabbergasted to discover it that it was part of a conference center. It's such a cute little place, with a very solid beer selection and surprisingly good home-cooked food. I had the French dip, which was definitely some kind of super tender roast beef rather than the usual deli stuff. And instead of regular chewies, they used the kind that is usually melted over the top of French onion soup, who would have thought? Excellent. The service was just one guy, and I wish I'd gotten his name because his presence lights up the whole place, he's clearly an important part of the whole atmosphere. Looking forward...

First off, the vibe is 👌. Personally, I love small and cozy.

But let's talk about the FOOD. 😋 My husband had an amazing salad and I went for the French dip. I'd come back from those house made potato chips alone.

And the service? Impeccable. Our server was so friendly and helpful with recommendations. 👍 She filled us in on game night which they host weekly.

Cute place with friendly service and delicious food. We both had the make your own grain bowl. Lots of different options and everything was so fresh. We didn't have a cocktail but they do feature a Cocktail of the Month, which looked delicious. You can eat inside or outside. Grounds are lovely. Tuesday's they have a Trivia Night.
