We haven’t been here since the renovations, so it was a pleasant surprise at how nice, cozy and clean the place was. We stopped in on a lazy Wednesday afternoon and it wasn’t crowded at all. The waitress was friendly and quick. She brought water and menus, and came back to take our order in timely fashion. I ordered the Turkey Bacon Swiss special with tater tots, my husband got the Patty Melt with tots. The food came quickly and was nice and hot. The sandwiches were grilled perfectly and chock full of meat! I could only eat half of my sandwich, it was filling. The tots were crisp and crunchy, but soft in the middle, as tots should be! My husband said the Patty Melt was delicious. He was pleased with the quality of the burger inside. We were both well pleased! The bathrooms were also very spacious and clean! That’s always a good sign, if you ask me! There is also a nice parking area right out in front of the restaurant. Don’t hesitate to swing on into the Duck Inn if you happen to be going by. It’ll make your belly happy.

With Hwy 30 being closed due to landslide - we went home on Hwy 4. We stopped here for lunch around noon on a Sunday. Restaurant area was not crowded but the lounge was busy. Super clean, organized and welcoming. We picked our table and our waiter took our order fast. Drinks were brought (water & Pepsi) and our lunch order was right behind it. I selected the French Dip with coleslaw. It did not disappoint. My husband selected the Chicken Bacon Wrap w/Onion Rings. There was a $3 up charge but that was fine. He ate it all so I think it was good (and he also isn’t a fan of chicken but like I said he ate it all). I did steal an onion ring - they were good as well. Overall, it’s a great place to have along hwy 4 as there is already limited options on eating along this route from Longview to the coast. Stop on in…

I love this place.. I eaten here, I’ve drank here, I’ve sang karaoke back before this plandemic hit, I’ve made friends here. The food is great, service is extraordinary, drinks are amazing (duck bomb) we really miss karaoke.. love the new deck.. very cool family orientated lounge to the left and chill bar to the right. Bathrooms are always tidy and stocked.. parking is great you can actually see your car from inside. Close to vista park and wakiakum Fairgrounds

This is a tough review to write. The food was outstanding and some of the best prices I've seen for cod fish and chips ($11.99), and the kiddo's grilled cheese basket ($4.99). It was huge (wish they used Cheddar instead of American cheese). I subbed a salad for $2.50 with my fish and chips and it was wonderful with dark mixed greens and veggies--not just a cheap iceberg lettuce with carrot shreds, and their ranch was delicious and thick. The problem was our server was SO awful. She had severe laryngitis (weird that an employee came to work sick in this current climate). When we asked to be seated by the window instead of the table she motioned towards (right next to the door of the lounge), she replied "I guess so." Mind you there were only two other tables occupied at that time as it was about 3:30 pm.

My mom then explained that my kiddo wanted to see the classic cars (the car show at Skamokawa fairgrounds had just ended and lots of cars were driving by), and she sat there in silence and didn't even respond to/acknowledge my mom. My dad ordered the coconut shrimp basket and she rattled off all the sides options and asked which he wanted. I told him that all the sides she was offering were an upcharge. He asked what came with the basket (included in the listed price) and she was rude, shrugged her shoulders and wouldn't answer the question. I finally told my dad since it was a basket I suspected that fries came in the advertised price and told him to just read the menu to see the prices of the other sides she was offering ($2.50 upcharge for most subs, even tots cost more than the fries it comes with). As she set down our meals, my mom reminded her that she had cottage cheese in her basket, and she snipped, "give me just a minute ma'am." She then left and another server took over (who was MUCH friendlier and attentive).

I waited tables for many years, and when you go off shift, you stop by and let the table know who will be the new server that will take care of them. We will still go back since the food and our new server (whom we had seen earlier working the booth at the skamokawa fair grounds) were much better, but we will be sure to never use that other...

This was the least satisfactory experience at Duck Inn. The entire time, all of the servers were focused on getting the dining room closed so they could focus on the bar patrons. The service in the dining room felt very rushed, and insincere. My veggie burger was a beef patty, so it was going to be remade. One of the most horrible errors establishments make is taking the entire plate away when there is a mistake made. You should never leave a guest with nothing. I had to sit and watch everyone else eat, and by the time my new plate came, I was pretty much wanting to leave and get my food to go. You should always leave the plate, and that way the guest is not left with nothing to eat at all while everyone else is eating. And don't make excuses for the error. Apologize and fix it. During our entire visit, there were several dirty tables around us. Not good. They were still dirty when we left. Very unfocused on us, and felt very rushed. And, you should not refer to women as guys. I guess if we wanted better service we should have come earlier in the day, or...
