So we went to Los Reyes last night because we had a hankering for Mexican food. I already know Los Reyes is my favorite in the area even though itās not the closest. I was surprised to find them very busy when we arrived, thereās usually several guests but Iāve never seen it so packed. We got a table up front and sat side-by-side. The server showed up pretty quickly and was very friendly. She brought chips and salsa on the first trip and we ordered a small cheese dip. It came out pretty quickly and the cheese was creamy and really good. I wish I had asked for jalapeƱos in the cheese dip. I forgot. Booooo. You can tell the tortilla chips are made in house because they are not uniform and wellā¦I just think theyāre made in house. Server brought our menus and our cheese dip and we looked it over to see what we wanted. I already knew what I wanted; I get the same thing every time I come here. There are plenty of things to try, but I like the chiles Riano so much and I always get that. I usually get just the cheese inside of the tender poblamo peppers with refried beans and rice. Everything is really good, just perfect and like I said I get the same thing every time. I guess Iām just a boring person. This time I ordered one chicken and one steak cooked inside the peppers. I have tried the chicken before, but I had never had the steak. My husband ordered some kind of chicken something I donāt remember what it was but he really liked it. He said it was the best beans he had ever had. I have to say the chicken was excellent⦠excellent. Itās tender and it has a wonderful chargrilled flavor, which I did not expect. The steak was the same. The char grilled flavor was just so so good. The poblamo pepper was tender but not mushy and cooked just right. Just the same as always. There was plenty of cheese inside too, so plus the cheese sauce on the top. The rice and beans were excellent as always. I enjoyed my meal very much. Just like everyone I come here. If youāre craving Mexican and want some really good food head up Highway 29 out of Athens, Georgia and stop at Los Reyes. It is on the right not far past the highway patrol station. Donāt speed through there because⦠you know⦠highway...

We were greeted once we entered and different options where to be seated were offered. Menus were handed and immediately Juan, our waiter, approached with a big smile and great attitude. He was patient and very helpful answering our questions about the food. Chiles rellenos is one of my favorites dishes from very traditional mexican gastronomy and it made me very happy being able to see it as a part of their menu. Draft beers are my preferences when it comes to drinks, even though they only serve it bottled. I I was able to order a frozen margarita from the house which was delicious. My birthday daughter ordered a dish named carne asada and shrimps, my oldest daughter had chicken flautas and I had my chiles rellenos. The dish brings two, the one with cheese was amazing. The one with carne wasn't that much, but i still enjoyed it. Fresh warm tortilla chips and a variety of house made authentic mexican salsas entertained us while waiting for the main courses. Clean and welcoming ambiance! In general, all food was fresh and very well presented and had great flavor. At the end of our dinner, Juan went above and beyond and he brought a tequila shot and a beautiful sombrero to my daughter to wear and celebrate the mexican way her 23rd birthday šš and yes! She was brave enough to drink that shot and still laugh. We had a blast! Thanks everybody at los reyes for making our celebration an...
