The tea was good! And the building was nice.

Initially I was disappointed because I wanted a couple of pizza slices without tomato sauce. I wanted a white sauce. Or maybe a pesto base. But they don't have anything other than tomato base when buy slices. You have to order a whole pizza to get a non tomato base.. Okay.. So plan B, since I don't want a whole pizza.

I converted to ordering manicotti. That was actually the worst manicotti I have ever had in my entire life! The inside was dry and crumbly. The manicotti was baked so much that it was burned and stuck to the little tin pan that it was served it in. I couldn't cut through the noodle with a knife!

I feel manicotti traumatized. Seriously, I was recently at another Italian restaurant and couldn't bring myself to order the manicotti! I know, that's a personal problem, so back to my review.

The other issue was that their salad bar isn't really a salad bar. It's lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, beets, and onions. They give you a small styrofoam bowl to make your salad in. I basically ended up with a small bowl of iceberg lettuce with beets on it.

My husband's Stromboli wasn't even really a stromboli. It was like a pizza dough bowl full of stuff. He said the sausage that was supposed to be in there tasted more like crumbled ground beef. So, my husband didn't really enjoy his meal either. It wasn't what he has encountered as a stromboli anywhere else.

My husband and I drove completely across town to try out this restaurant. We are trying to find the perfect pizza place around town, but this is not it for us!

Depending on what you like, you might like this place. I'd personally recommend sticking with the pizza in the tea! It's a really well rated place otherwise, and I don't often leave negative reviews. However, since both myself and my husband had issues, we really feel like people might like to know the tea is great! And quite possibly the pizza is too. The other stuff.. not so much.

Maybe we just hit them on a really bad day. But, whatever the case, we will...

Restaurant has gone way downhill under the new ownership. 80% of the time my pizza has been not just bad, but terrible. Full sized pizza so soggy on the bottom the cardboard almost fell out on a ~$70 order, getting there when they open and getting pizza where they add a little cheese on top of old pizza, overcooked, and the list goes on. To be clear, when I say that expensive order of pizza was soggy, I’m talking like 3+ OUNCES of liquid at the bottom. I only found out when I got home.

They used to be a gem that was actually some of the best pizza in the whole state. Now they’re almost always not just bad, but terrible. Also, when you go in, the prices are way higher which is no longer justified when it’s for old reheated slices or very soggy full size pizza, and the overall prep quality is down.

It’s a disgrace how bad it’s gotten. On top of quality issues, there’s also too many signs in there now about all of the rules they have including not being able to share your soda cup with your date. It’s not remotely the restaurant it used to be.

They’ve also had tons of time to fix this at this point. It’s on purpose. For that reason, I am very sad to say I hope they fail and will not go back unless I have reason to believe the situation has changed.

To clarify, I’m not saying you can’t get lucky and get pizza almost as good as it used to be there anymore. But 80% of the...

SERVICE IS BEYOND TRASH!! If I could give zero stars I would!! Save your money the customer service is below trash. The food was good. $56.42 for 3 sandwiches and drinks and you have to do everything for yourself there they’re still using strict Covid rules which is fine no big deal. My son said he wanted ranch went to get some and they wanted .75 cents for each one so I went back up to purchase them and then they wanted me to buy $6.00 worth so I was like no I don’t need that much. They said sorry we can’t sale you any ranch…. Are you serious for almost $60.00 in 3 sandwiches and drinks one ranch should be included with each meal or at least one side sauce of your Choice. I said so unless I buy a ton of ranch we don’t get any…. Nope. I was absolutely floored I didn’t want it for free I even tried to pay but I’m not buying $6.00 worth of ranch. We was the only table in there and two couples was outside. One of the other couples food was up two slices of pizza. He called over the restaurant blah blah your order is ready and not even 3 minutes not even 3 minutes he yelled again blah blah order is ready finale call. He trashed their food right after the second call. Very rude, very impatient and no customer service whatsoever. Have no idea how they have...

We have been going to Peppino’s since it opened in the early 2000’s. My go to is the Italian sub no onions no mustard with mayo with a slice of cheese pizza and a pitcher of beer, sit in our favorite booth and stay a while. Then go downtown, see a show then wind-up late night at the sister restaurant Little Italy. The calzones are good, the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, the eggplant parmigiana sandwich, whatever, it’s all great. The name of the game, get a booth, get some beer and have a good time with family and friends. If you just want some pizza to stuff in your face while you watch TV, sure, go to Dominoes or something boring like that it won’t be good, all bready and too salty or better yet get Peppino’s and stuff your face in front of that TV. I’ve done both with both pizzas and Peppino’s is way better and the next day, cold Peppino’s pizza, you just can’t beat it. Peppino’s and downtown Athens Georgia Little Italy, rocks! Fuhgeddaboudit! Look at my picture does that look like a liar to you?

We get pizza from here at least twice a month, I’m honestly surprised this is the only photo I can find. Y’ALL, this is the best pizza on the east side of Athens (College Station). Always go for the thin crust though, the thick one is GIANT and you will only be able to eat one slice before your stomach explodes. We love Peppinos so much and are doing our best to keep them in business. Their pizza is so good and you can taste the quality in the ingredients. You will never want to get chain pizza ever again once you try how awesome the flavors melt together in Peppinos pizza. We live about 15 minutes away from there and if we order before we get ready to leave the door, it’s nearly always ready for pickup by the time we arrive. Also, their desserts are awesome.
