Larry's Dawg House — Restaurant in Athens

I really wish I could give more stars. But honestly. Melanie. The cashier. Britney. Crew leader? Was the reason they received three stars. Instead of two. They really went above and beyond. Two try and help me with what I did order. Melanie Brittany and the others. All had told me. They were known for there footlong sauce. Which I asked for a hot dog with sauce instead. As you can see by the pictures. As well as a single cheeseburger there Fry's and chicken strips. With a chocolate milkshake. Where to begin? Unless you are looking for it. Especially for me while it was raining. Can't hardly see the place. Oh yes! If you look right at it. They do have small neon signs in the windows and such. But Nothing grabs your attention. As I made my way inside. The place appeared to be clean and neat. Very well-lit. Melanie. Asked what I would like. As soon as I told her. I have never been in before. She really focused on trying to help me. As did Brittany. And the crew. LOL! They. Truly! Was the best part of this experience. For that alone. I will probably go back again someday. But with that being said. The food was mediocre at best. My chocolate shake was so thick I could not get it through the straw. As you can see from the pictures. The sandwich. Was a mess. And Tiny. The fries were cold. The chicken tenders were cold. I asked for a sample of all their sauces. For the chicken. Nothing was above ordinary. Except! The gravy. As seen in the picture. Was really good and would have been better. If it was hot. Talkin with some other patrons. They explained to me that they eat at Larry's Dawg House. About once a week. And the fish sandwich is what they really like. Wish I would have chosen the fish. With some work. They truly could have something special. God bless you all. And...

This place has nice food and my boyfriend and I have been going here since a while but our recent visit has left a sour taste in my experience with them. My boyfriend went through the drive thru and ordered 2 sandwiches and they forgot to put one in which is a little irritating but a honest mistake so my boyfriend goes back after 10 minutes of being home but our way there is also 20-23 minutes so till the time he got back it was a while because he didn’t realise the sandwich was missing and the staff questioned him for coming after an hour and didn’t really apologise or show any remorse for the inconvenience but made him feel shitty for taking time to come back like it was his fault. I think ‘I’m sorry we missed the sandwich let me check in and come back’ is the basic polite response and not ‘ oh that was an hour ago’ and making him feel shitty for coming to pick a sandwich he paid for is rude. The staff was very friendly and professional. The dining area was clean. Being an establishment that seems to tout itself as a hot dog specialty joint We were expecting high quality all beef hot dogs. We were sadly disappointed to Instead receive a pale boiled chicken pork Blended hot dog. The fish tail sandwich was also incredibly cheap and Came On a low quality hamburger bun Which didn't fit the fish at all. Also for shakes we received a very thin drinking straw Which made drinking the milkshake basically impossible. All that is acceptable if you know what you're getting except for the prices are basically At a steakhouse Level For what could very easily pass for gas station food. I believe they could use higher quality ingredients While keeping the same prices and still remain profitable.
