. A Resort Hotel typically includes entertainment and recreational activities. We can say that a Resort is a self-contained establishment, providing for most of a vacationer's needs while remaining on the premises (lodging, food, drink, sports, entertainment, shopping, etc.)
Decided on an Whim to Take My wife away for the weekend she has been staring at the same office walls for too Long now. We were recommended to try this Resort from an Few Clients. We arrived Sunday afternoon easy drive from RI the grounds were gorgeous We checked in early and Had Lunch Our Waitress Linda was Great so we went back for dinner and had and unbelievable Dinner Scampi and I had the Steak Tips. We Ate their twice on Monday also They had an Beef tenderloin special Amazing we sat near the Kitchen The Chefs and team were amazing They were working hard and you could tell they were great at what they Do.
The course looked very inviting Had an Room On the 18th Hole Booked an tee time for Monday at 9 am. Figured I could sleep in and have an Nice breakfast and hit a Bucket before My round. We were supposed to Be at The mission inn Resort in Florida where we have stayed before but due to the C19 Pandemic that wasn't an Option.
I awoke on Monday 08/03 and walked the grounds and got an Few Fantastic Pic's,
I was then informed when asked that they do not serve Breakfast???? not even an Bowl of cereal the Menus were online and in the rooms showed Breakfast and the Menus prices were wrong . The Only reason we go to an Resort and Pay the Prices is so we do not have to leave until checkout. The Older woman at the front desk must be related she had an personality of an Rock No smile no 10 foot rule..... does not belong dealing with People maybe that is why she is the o night crew. So OK I drive around to find breakfast 20 minutes away. I hurried for this wasn't in My Itinerary. I then check in with Chris in the pro-shop Nice young man welcoming and I asked if I could have an Bucket of Balls he said they were included in My round. So I go to the driving Range only to find it closed So No Breakfast No warm up we are really starting off Bad. I wasn't Happy Great way to start My day NOT. I wasn't offered any type of apology from the desk just Excuses.

Read moreWe recently had our wedding at Atkinson Resort and Country Club. While the venue itself is beautiful and the staff are very kind, I feel it’s important to share our experience with the planning and day-of coordination so that future couples know what to expect. Leading up to the wedding, the planning process seemed organized, and we had a detailed meeting where we walked through every décor item and timeline element. However, on the wedding day, much of what we were assured would happen did not. We were told we’d have access to the reception room at 3:30 PM for setup, but another wedding was scheduled in the same space until 4:30 PM—and they ran over. We weren’t allowed in until 5:15 PM, just 45 minutes before guests arrived - despite contract saying you’ll have access 2 hours before. During planning, we were told in the case of rain that staff would assist in finding indoor photo options if needed—but on the day of, we were told the backup spaces were already booked with other events. Our photographers were left on their own to find usable areas, and the only suggestion given was to wait for our ceremony room that was also occupied. We were told afterward that we “should’ve booked a backup location in the contract,” which was never explained beforehand. There were also small service issues, like missing drinks for the bridal party during cocktail hour, rude servers / cold food during bridal salon breakfast, and confusion over décor placement for ceremony set up - despite spending over an hour in advance detailing everything with the coordinator. When asked about it, the coordinator told my family “we never went over anything,” which was simply untrue. We had 6 family members and bridesmaids arranging decorations day of so it would be done in time.
When we shared these concerns with the Director of Sales / Manager afterward, we were told that we “had really high expectations” and that our décor plan was “more than a coordinator typically accommodates.” This was especially disappointing to hear, since we were never told at any point that we needed to scale back or bring additional help. It felt as though the focus had been more on securing our booking than on actually delivering the level of service we were led to expect. When we suggested possible ideas for resolution (reimbursement, gift cards for a better experience to make up for it, etc) they were dismissed without acknowledgment, but rather the Director encouraging us to send photos & hoping that we would book another event in the future.
Ultimately, we’re grateful to be married, and we know things don’t always go perfectly—but for the investment we made, we expected more care and follow-through. If you’re considering this venue, I recommend asking very specific questions about room availability, backup plans for weather, and exactly what the coordinator will and won’t be responsible...
Read moreI'll start by saying the place is very nice, beautiful golf course, overall quiet even though they seem to host a lot of events. The restaurant is delicious and the bar is nice as well. The rooms themselves are fine, a little on the older side, small TV's when considering the size of the rooms (larger). Unfortunately, my family and I did not have a great experience when we stayed there for two nights. There were four of us in a room with two queen beds. We immediately heard and felt a slight vibration coming from below, which was worse in the evening when we were getting ready for bed. The wall and even bed closest to the noise and sensation was clearly vibrating. We believe it was either an AC unit or generator. It was rather concerning and annoying as we were trying to sleep, so we went to the front desk to bring it to their attention. Without a manager available, we were given a $25 gift card for the inconvenience, which was less than satisfactory. About 30 minutes later, a manager came to the room, heard the noise and felt the radiating himself and was able to move two of us into an adjacent room with one king bed. The two of us that stayed in the room were woken up 7am to a loud clicking sound due to the vibrating from below. Because of this, we were not staying a second night and were able to move to another room. We were told that we would not be charged for the first night and would only need to pay for the new room with the two queen beds. The bill was received and we were charged for the king room, which was offered to us and not asked for, for TWO nights. This was extremely frustrating and disappointing because were told something that did not happen. The resort tried convincing us that the $25 gift card was a selling point and their way of compensating us for the issue. In closing, there may just be an issue with whatever system was making the noise and vibrating, or perhaps it's only specific to that room. But the way management handled this, the lack of conveying the correct information, misleading us, making us believe they were doing us a favor and in essence only saving us a fraction of money by charging us for the king room only (which, again, we did not ask to move into),...
