I found about this place through a TikTok that was sent to me, as I love a street taco I knew I had to try. If you are in Atlanta you know you can find a few Mexican grocers around different neighborhoods, and oftentimes they have a full restaurant n the back. I happened to be in neighborhood and decided to make the stop on my way home. I arrived about 15/20 min before closing and understandably so was met with “Only asada tacos” I’m not a major beef fan, but decided to give it a go. Made fresh added extra cilantro and onions, made my sauces from the side and packed up and went home. The asada was fine, a bit chewy but I can manage that, the corn tortillas weren’t the best, seemed rushed (they were closing, I get it) they fell apart which usually means they are undercooked. Overall I’d return for another try simple because I was the only to arrive at that time and there were about 5-10 others who had same idea as me. That alone let me know the food on a great day and time has to be better than my initial experience.

If you like really high quality Mexican food that tastes like it was made by an Abuelitas then this is your spot. Easily the best tacos I have had in the city and honestly this place is better than 95% of the Mexican restaurants in Southern California. This establishment is a beautiful tapestry of the cultural diversity of Atlanta. You walk in and you see Hispanic, black, white, hipster, gangster, construction worker, movie studio exec, and everything in between all waiting in line in the back to get some of the best Mexican food in the city. There's a reason why those that otherwise may never cross paths can wait together in community while being drawn together by a deep connection of authentic Mexican food and culture. Places like this are all over southern California where I went to college and I promise you this place beats them out of the water and is truly a gem shining brightly on this side of town.

There’s a decent chance to find this place you searched for a variation of “prison tacos” which is probably politically incorrect, but literally nobody remembers the name of this place. Stay classy ATL “Prison tacos” comes from the proximity to the state penitentiary. It definitely falls into hole in the wall type eatery, and as is expected from such places the food is tasty and the prices are great. The tacos were straight forward. The sandwich was exceptional. The basic bish in me would have liked a marg BUT the non alcoholic sangria (bottled) was really good. The mart will have you shopping like you’re getting ready for a road trip. A whole section of Takis and different chili candies. There is also fresh produce and a meat counter which were probably really good, but I’m about that snack life. Parking is free and easily accessible.

As you walk into this, not the most good looking place you are met with a gas station type store as you walk in. As a dominantly. Mexican on place the mood is very right with Mexican music playing over the speakers if you ever have a meat that you need to cut a certain way there is a giant meat bar in the back and they will gladly cut up some fresh meat for you if you do not have your own, they can provide some for you. That is already cut. We can ask for a specific type of cut. However, those are just some of the things that this place provides most people go there for the extremely tasty tacos and burritos. Wow not the only options on the menu. Those are obviously the most common that Americans like to try. My first time ever going to there I was spectacle about how the place looked while it smelt nice the looks are a little unkept near the meat bar. Wow since they are still open, they have been holding a good record by the food safety people so the meat is and can be trusted, but as I did walk in on my first time going there my dad ordered some tacos and I ordered a steak burrito to go. I cannot specify how the tacos taste, but the burrito was excellent while salsa is good on it. It’s not needed for the burrito. With excellent flavors that combined just right not only right but amazing. I have been around three times and I have only gotten burritos my next time. I will be trying to tacos and I will gladly update my review about the tacos. Wow, not much can be said on this review this place is warm and welcome to everyone anytime you want to go. This is one of the best taco places in Grant Park area. I would 10 out of...
