Mariscos La Playa — Restaurant in Atwater

Had dinner here back in July and everything was 4 star good. Had the same dish for dinner here yesterday and I was disappointed. We were a party of 6. We waited patiently and had to ask for chips and salsa well after we placed our order. Our server told us they had no more chips and it was "too late" for her to make them. Really? It's Saturday night and by 4pm you run out of chips? They didn't have diet soda of any kind. No Aguas Frescas. No iced tea. No lemonade. Only some select sodas and jarritos and beer. I settled on water! Our rice and beans were cold. Everyone was almost done with their dinner when the last order for 1 of our party, crawfish, came out. My fried Huachinango fish was over fried and consequently oily. It caused me an upset stomach later on. Definitely not worth the $20. Someone else's fried fish was under cooked. The ladies restroom didn't have toilet paper and no running water so the ladies couldn't wash their hands, luckily we had hand wipes. The music was too loud! We could not hear each other. Maybe this was a bad day for the restaurant. I will try them once more in the future and if this happens again, I will walk out...

Well for starters you need to know that the prices on their menu are not accurate!! They are higher than what they are and due to our great inflation that we are going thru. Soo please ask the waiters for the updated price.

Now for the food Mmm... i can say that it has flavor and fresh homemade Tortillas. I order the Molcajete Mixto and it was almost perfect. The flavors and seasoning were on point tho it was a little bit spicy on the salsa Verde. As for the meat, the slices are too thin for the price of the Molcajete. I wasn't happy about that at all. I hope that the owners read this and rectified it. I have to give props because i can eat alot of their Tortillas by dipping on the molcajete 😈. The Fish Taco was very good and their Fish Ceviche had alot of lemon juice on it and that to me was on point. As for the other tostada it lack some season and it needed more octopus.

I have to say that i will come back and try something else from their menu!

PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE!!! They charged me $26 for a Molcajete that was supposed to be $18. I asked them why and the waiter told me they changed their prices and they haven’t changed their menu. No mention of the price changes prior or effort to make it right. I unfortunately had to find out after the fact that this restaurant price gauge’s their costumers. On top of all that their food is trash! Absolutely no flavor.. Please do not support...
