My wife, 2 of my kids and I ate at Johnny Bruscoās located on East University tonight, March 13, 2021. I will begin by saying we have eaten there numerous times, and weāve never had an issue nor a complaint. I wanted to refrain from being negative this time but simply could not due to the multiple issues on this one trip. My wife, who had chosen not to eat all day and was more hungry than any of the rest of us, ordered a simple Stromboli for dinner, and the issues began from there. They fixed a calzone instead and asked if that would be acceptable. Unfortunately, she doesnāt like ricotta cheese, so she chose to wait on them to cook her Stromboli while we ate our orders. Well, they finally bring out her order and it is undercooked and has a distinct taste of raw dough. They offer to cook her a meal for the third time, and she waits forever. Finally the waitress comes over and says they burned the third item, her second Stromboli. So, they offer to cook her another, 4th time and third Stromboli, and give it to her to go. They bring the ticket, although my wife has yet to eat, and charge us the full amount for our dinner and her order as well. I choose to not complain or say anything due to our previous positive experiences. Well, we get home around 9:40 and my wife sits down to FINALLY eat her Stromboli. To our surprise, this 3rd Stromboli was more raw and doughy than the last at the restaurant. My wife was so upset that she decided to go to bed without eating. There is no excuse for screwing up 4 different meals in one order. Iām very disappointed in Johnny Bruscoās...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife Kimberly and I have been coming here for 4+yrs. And regardless of our mood when we arrive, we leave left feeling better than when we arrived. The food is great, the atmosphere is that of family, which represents the service. But, the ultimate bonus of this place is it's the only pizza place that hits ALL the marks of representing NY style pizza and hitting those marks on every time.
I am originally from Upstate NY born, bred, and spoon fed. This location is the closet you will get to the NY Style Pizza you are hunting.
This is my first time in 4+yrs of coming here with my wife, that I have come here with me, myself, and I. And I will say this, I already know that I will leave here in a much needed mood boost.
You will not regret coming here, whether to eat really good NYSP(NewYorkStylePizza), or needing that human connection.
The atmosphere is a representation of the workers here, which in-turn represents that of the owner(s). He knows who I am talking bout.
Love this place don't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a terrible luncheon experience at the Johnny Brusco's in Auburn, AL, this afternoon. My wife and I arrived at 1:20 and were met there by our daughter and grandkids at 1:30. Right off the bat we commented on how cold it was inside the glass room we were seated in. The high today, Tuesday, Dec. 21, was 42 degrees. It seemed 42 degrees inside also. I asked our server if she could turn the heat up but was told they had no heat in that room. Secondly, we placed our order at 1:30 but didn't get our food until 2:10. So we sat in the ice box for 40 minutes before we got our food. Finally, we were given our food but were not given any eating utensils. We then asked for some. The server didn't return with the forks and knives so my wife had to go look for some. We have had good service at this restaurant in the past but today was bad. We were very close to getting up and walking out when we were told there was no heat. Factor in the service and I wish now...
