We came here last night for a friend’s daughter’s birthday dinner. We were excited to try this restaurant since it has the mini golf course and looks so cute - tried coming here twice in the past with no luck (closed to the public one day, and another day it hadn’t opened yet which was our mistake to not check).
Initial thoughts: small but cute and intimate place! So happy there weren’t many people (this should’ve been a forewarning). Once everyone arrived, waitress took our drink orders. We had a group of 13 people (including kids). After drinks came, our cheese sticks arrived and she took our food order. I’m pretty certain she was new as she seemed a bit confused on how many sides the main entrees came with even though it states 2 on the menu. No biggie. She missed one side of the table completely (4 people) and someone had to go get her. One cool thing I noticed that I haven’t seen at other restaurants is this cute little gadget thing that looks like a tiny mini tablet where she took our food orders.
It was very hot and humid in there. At one point my baby started screaming and crying and I hugged him into me and as I did that, I felt his head was soaked with sweat! My husband took him outside to “cool off” even though it was hot outside too - yet in the outdoor covered patio with fans, it was somehow cooler than indoors.
We had several kids at our table and they were all starting to get antsy. At one point, most of our table decided to go outdoors and let the kids roam/explore/play for a bit while we wait for our food to come.
Food - the most disappointing part of all. Starting with the kids - my daughter’s kids meal (burger and fries) didn’t come out at all until maybe 20min after everyone had already gotten theirs. My husband ordered the filet sliders (2 mini burgers) with loaded mashed potato and regular mashed potato. He had ordered the sliders with no onion and mentioned it to the waitress. She took it back to the cook and they just removed it from the burgers. We could’ve done that ourselves but it left an onion taste/residue on the bread and my husband hates onion taste so he could still taste it. The meat on the sliders was hard. Since our daughter’s food wasn’t arriving, my husband shared some of his food. Both orders of mashed potato were COLD. Like fresh out of the fridge cold. One of the orders was for my 1 year old and when he took a bite, he literally started screaming and crying. I ordered the catfish meal that came with hush puppies, coleslaw and a side (fries). Fries were stale, cold and hard to eat. I didn’t get coleslaw or hush puppies and completely forgot to mention it to our waitress since I was already feeling overwhelmed and stressed trying to make sure my fussing kids would calm down. I didn’t get to try my catfish either since I was waiting on my tartar sauce but that never came and my son kept getting worse by the minute so I ended up leaving to go nurse him and cool off in my car with AC.
Other meals - One of our friends ordered the filet dinner. She ordered it medium and it was fully cooked - well done and hard. One of our other friends also ordered the filet sliders same as my husband so I’m sure his weren’t good either. Not sure what everyone else ordered but everyone was unhappy with their meal.
After everyone “finished” with their food and paid - I think most food was left unfortunately, we were excited to go play in the golf course. The kids had a ball running around and everyone had a great time outdoors. The mini course is nicely kept and has 2 small ponds. Treating for pest control/mosquitoes would be good though since the kids and I got attacked and kept getting mosquitos near our eyes and everywhere.
Overall, I would not recommend coming here for food. Food was terrible and service wasn’t the best but waitress seemed new and looked very young like a teenager. The lack of AC was terrible. The atmosphere indoors and outdoors looks cute and would be a great date night for just golf and drinks.
Has potential and I really hope...
Read moreI placed my order by phone at 12:07 pm, I ordered a club sandwich with fries cooked hard. I was told by the lady that answered the phone my order would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived at exactly 12:33 to pick up my order. Gave my name and was the lady said “oh this system is acting wrong”, went to another register and she repeated my order exactly like I ordered it and said she is going to put it in, I asked has my order been placed and she said no, and she requested to take my order. This is the second time this happened and if “Tiger on the green” does not want my business because of my race just say it, and I just won’t order anything from them again. The worst part is the girl was literally laughing and smartly stated, sorry hope to see you again. The first incident I had to wait over 50 minutes for my food. And it was a different person and she basically the same thing “she forgot to put the order in”. Next time just say you are not taking to go orders over the phone. This whole incident was disrespectful and disgraceful to the establishment. I hope the best for them and their preferred customers. I also attempted to call and speak with a manager and was told the manager is not there and won’t return until late evening. I have never heard of management leaving a dining facility during the peak times of business especially during lunch hours. Please make...
Read moreThis was our first visit. We went for dinner Sunday night. Very disappointed after seeing a 4.8 rating.
Positives
friendly staff, initially attentive. entrees were good but not cooked as requested. while we had a reservation, there were only 3 other tables occupied the whole time we were there along with one person at the bar (and no one on the patio).
Negatives
soft drinks were flat, server brought seltzer and water as replacements. we ordered 1) a medium filet with roasted Brussel sprouts and a Caesar salad and 2) blackened Mahi Mahi with roasted Brussels and street corn. we then waited 30 minutes, finally my Mahi Mahi order arrived with an apology about the delay and that my spouse’s order would be coming soon. So we asked about her salad. My spouse’s salad then arrived a few minutes later. Then a few more minutes passed and her steak finally arrived.
Not that it matters but there weren’t any garnishes, just the given protein on a plate.
The fish was good but appeared to have been broiled with some seasoning on it but not blackened. The Brussels were mushy with oil sitting in the bowl.
The filet was well done not medium, similar Brussels, but to complain again just wasn’t worth it. We wanted to get this over with.
In sum, we may try brunch at some point with all of the positives, but dinner...
