A brief history. My love of food trucks began when I joined the Army while stationed at Ft Hood. We would joke that if you wanted to know our position? Park a food truck in the area. It was taken to a new level when I was an OTR driver in the Laredo TX region. I would pull over for a food truck before eating a restaurant. There is something about a carne asada burrito or taco from Laredo TX that hit different. I was stationed in California for 3 years. I hated California. I loved California food. The area I reside in is a young neighborhood. The Taco Truck is new as the neighborhood. Flashback to Texas, I immediately pulled up. As I walked toward the truck, I noticed California plates. They did not serve carne asada they did serve asada. Taco or burrito. This is not the only item on the menu, it's the one I love. If not for my weight and I could? I would order the California burrito daily. My family they prefer the tacos. One time, they were out of asada. I chose the carnistas (sp) just as delicious. I hooked on the asada. It's probably the cleanest food truck I seen. The nachos are always fresh. The salsa? They should bottle, at least the mild. I would purchase depending on price. The truck utilizes electronic tag to notify when ready for pickup. In my area: Publix, Wendy's and a Wawa. The Taco Truck serves as a change of pace....
Read morePolk City truly has so little to choose from for restaurants when you’re wanting something different. Was so looking forward to authentic Mexican food or close to it. My first time eating at Taco Bus will be the last. First the prices for this heartburn / sick stomach was way to high. $64 for 8 basic tacos, tostada, beef burrito and El Jeffe burrito. The tostada wasn’t all bad once I found the half dried out lime slice underneath. The beef taco has the flavor of Taco Bell meat seasoning. I haven’t tried the burrito yet or eaten but half of 1 taco. Flavorless is a mild word. When I think Spanish food I think flavor, some sort of spice but even the cabbage had so little flavor. My son ate half his Spicy chicken lol El Jeffe burrito and was looking in the kitchen for something to add some sort of flavor for the other half when he goes to eat it. Yes I am very disappointed and will not go back, I’d go to Taco Bell first. However $64 worth of stuff still has to be eaten so I too will be looking in the kitchen for something to add to give it flavor. Taco Bus you disappointed me on every level. If there was a minus for rating that’s what I’d give. Sorry for the negative review but I feel the need to save people some hard...
Read moreIf you're a fan of flavorful, fresh Mexican food, Taco Bus is definitely worth checking out! Despite being a small spot, their tacos and burrito bowls are nothing short of amazing. I recently tried their spicy chicken tacos, which come wrapped in soft, warm flour tortillas, and they were packed with bold, perfectly spiced flavors. The chicken was tender and delicious, with just the right amount of heat.
The chicken burrito bowl I had was equally fantastic. Generous portions of juicy chicken, fresh toppings, and well-seasoned rice and beans made it a satisfying meal from start to finish. The flavors blend together wonderfully, and the freshness of the ingredients really stands out.
Even though the space is small, Taco Bus packs a punch with its tasty offerings. It's definitely a spot I would recommend, and I'll be back for more. If you're craving a solid, flavorful meal, this place should be...
