This place is amazing. Chinese food is just one of those things I don't like to budge on mainly because I have a large family, so it is really expensive, therefore, I stick with what I know, which was Canton Express as it was the only place my parents ever ate from, so I just carried that on with my own family. The quality of food there has gone downhill so drastically that I decided to take a chance with Chen's... I will never order from another place again now. The food is always fresh and tastes amazing. This is, hands down, the best restaurant in Augusta and it far outdoes Canton, as well as Lucky Garden, which I also recently tried at the advice of someone else. I'll always stick with Chen's! The family that owns it is also very pleasant to deal with. I absolutely love the fact that they have their little girl working the register and taking orders most of the time. They are instilling so many important values in that child that seem to have been lost by the American people. I'm proud to support any business that holds tight to the values this country was built on. Amazing people, amazing food. You just can't...
Read moreTerrible !!!! Avoid. Old food, Not fresh. Overcooked. Tough. Yuck. My daughter and I went there today (7/14/2017) to order General Tso chicken, and Chicken and Broccoli. All of the food was tough, overcooked, gross. The veggies were slimy and did not have any texture. The meat was overcooked, as if it had been in a microwave. My daughter and I did not like it. I brought it home to my mother and she too did not like it. I am accusing them of serving us old food. It was not fresh, it was not tasty - and to add insult to injury - they served us the wrong chicken. My daughter wanted General Tso Chicken, and she recived Sweet and Sour Chicken. We have recently tried several Chinese restaurants, and by far the very best is "Kon Asian Bistro", 1140 Brighton ave, Portland Maine. By far !!!!! We are not associated with any restaurant. I am a computer repair guy in Lewiston Maine. I simply want to help you choose a good restaurant. Please avoid Chen at all cost !!!! It's not fresh food !!!! Go to Kon in...
Read moreThe quality of the food at this restaurant has degraded: the boneless spare ribs are mostly fat; the size of the egg rolls are half of what you would expect, or come to appreciate, but the same amount of egg roll wrap is used to produce something the size of a spring roll, with the end result being a smattering of filling and a whole lot of fried dough; the chicken and beef teriyaki is over-cooked and chewy; the chicken fingers are mostly batter (oil-soaked batter, at that); the beef and broccoli, as well as the egg fu young, lacks flavor.
As a fore warning, avoid the fried rice. The fried rice will give you the runs - we became so sick.
The prices have increased, but the quality has woefully decreased.
For what you'll pay to feed a few people, there are certainly better options available.
Avoid this place...
