Waffle House — Restaurant in Augusta

I would NOT go back to this Waffle House, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The plastic sheets between the booths were actually a good idea. However, the booths and tables still needed to be cleaned. The floor was very dirty. The OJ I ordered came out of the the machine warm; I actually had to let it cool down to room temperature. The syrup bottle that was brought to our table was layered with old syrup, proving it hadn't been cleaned before being brought to us. Needless to say, we didn't use it or eat our waffle. After our waitress brought us our check, she went to the restroom with her apron on. That's a "no no" in food service. I saw another waitress walking around the food prep area without her mask pulled up. I never saw any staff wear gloves while serving. My bacon was first brought out burned up, not a little bit, A LOT. My toast was brought out with grits on them- I didn't have grits on my order. All and all, I was disappointed in my experience and would not recommend anyone visit...

I ordered the biscuits and gravy (actually it was a single biscuit) and the advertised strawberry waffle with whipped cream on top. The best part of the meal was the biscuit and gravy. It was better than what I’ve had at most restaurants, but the biscuits and gravy at Pilot Flying J is still significantly better. For the strawberry waffle, I thought it was a little too mushy (I prefer a more spongy waffle). And the whipped cream wasn’t really cream, but rather a whipped topping that melts into a slightly milky but almost translucent liquid. The truth is, it wasn’t a bad meal. I’ve had much worse. But I’ve also had much better. I had expected top quality food when I walked in, and I was a little disappointed.

The service and atmosphere was exactly what I had expected. Based on the service and atmosphere I would return to this Waffle House. But I would perhaps explore something else...

We went here this morning to grab some food. The service was absolutely terrible. I didn't catch the guys name that was our server, but he should not be working there at all. We had to ask for creamer for the coffee and for silverware (which none of us got a full set) our food came out in increments. One person's meal came. (Well most of it) 5 minutes later the second person's food came out. We had to ask about the remaining meal and we're told.. its coming.. no butter with the waffle.. we literally were given our check before all of the food was even at the table. He never came back to check on us. And as we were leaving he snapped at an elderly couple as they were walking up to a table to sit down. I've worked in restaurants many years in my life and I get people can have a bad day.. but this was...
