Mica’s Burritos & Coffee — Restaurant in Austin

I was very excited to try this restaurant due to a Tik Tok video I had seen, so hubby took me there this morning. Unfortunately we left very disappointed. We ordered a burrito & a bowl neither of which was anything to rave about. What struck me more than anything was the rudeness of the person managing the drive through. They were not friendly at all & gave an energy that said I don’t want to deal with you. When we pulled up to the window & paid my husband tried to request Salsa Verde. The person ignored him and closed the window. He tried to get their attention & it was obvious they were intentionally continuing to ignore him because they remained right there at the window but refused to look though he tapped the horn & said excuse me. When the person finally opened the window they said nothing just handed over the food at which time my husband asked for salsa again. They brought the salsa handed it to him & closed the window still without saying a word. We went on our way only to discover no fork (my husband had a bowl) or napkins added to the bag so we had to stop again which is normally something small I can overlook if it wasn’t for the experience we had already had with the window person. Edited to subtract a star due to some inconsistencies I’ve noticed that are a little frustrating, unfortunately! I don’t like cilantro (which is in their pico) so my go-to burrito is now the Americano without bacon and subbing beans instead. Sometimes this substitution is free, sometimes it costs me $0.75. Not wild about that. Sometimes the burrito comes with salsa verde on the side, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes the iced 16oz cold brew and horchata is $5 as listed on the menu, sometimes it’s $5.75. These aren’t huge differences, but I’d like to know what things cost so I don’t end up paying $17 for a drive-thru vegetarian breakfast burrito and coffee. 😕

Decided to swing by while I was nearby after seeing this reviewed on TikTok; this place was awesome! I walked up to place an order and had the Americano burrito. The potatoes were fully cooked and toasty, and the amount of ingredients inside were well balanced! The eggs were cooked nicely as well, not too fluffy or overcooked. The price was great too! I am very pleased with the service I got at the walk up window as well, the clerk was very friendly and seemed to enjoy their job. I don’t have anything bad to say. The salsas were also good, and they placed one red and one green in good portions.

Seriously, definitely coming back if I’m ever in the area. Love to support local businesses, even more so when their business is well worth it. Will be checking out new...
