Being half Mexican, every time my husband (who is not known to be very adventurous in the food department) recommends a Mexican restaurant nearby, I typically don’t expect much from it. I am SO glad my husband recommended this spot because it is our new favorite restaurant. I ordered the carne asada tacos, tortilla soup, and a tamale to try multiple items out. We also had ordered queso for our young daughter who loves her “chips and cheese”. Every single thing was SO good with large portions and the owner and staff was even better. You could tell the queso and salsa was homemade and not straight from a can like many other Mexican restaurants around here. The steak in my tacos was perfectly done and the every single food had tons of flavor. I would definitely recommend the soup or steak tacos! From the moment we walked in our waiter and the owner were extremely friendly and inviting and made us feel comfortable. The waiter even gave my daughter a quarter for the gum ball machine! Thank you so much to the owner and staff, we will definitely be back for many other occasions. Like someone else said, please go here and don’t let it die like many small town businesses do,...

This was an amazing restaurant. The service was great. The guy was super helpful and friendly. It was obvious that most of the customers were regulars, and for good reason.

The food was so good. Fresh ingredients and flavours on my avocado tostada made it I've of the best I have ever had. The menu said choice of meat. I asked if that included pork carnitas. He said it could, for an additional cost. I am so glad they went for it. Fantastic.

Hubby tried the carne asada. It was unlike any we had ever had before. It had really nice...

A hidden gem in a small Iowa town. Just passing by on the interstate and was lucky enough to have chosen Casa Mexicana close by. I didn't have high expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. The charm of this little place is obvious from the moment you walk in. They treated us as though we were old customers and I could tell others were as well. Stephanie J, our waitress, made this a great experience. And the owner is an engaging gent who charms every table. I'll find a way to come back here on a future trip. And, by the way, the food...

I came here with my son and his family as we were in town for a basketball game. The charm and atmosphere of the hand-painted art fir the holidays, the entrance, the Mexican decorations in a historical building were so enjoyable for a little after game dinner. We loved our delicious food and appreciated the owner coming out to chat with us. I had a dish of Camarones, mushrooms and zucchini in a creamy sauce and it was quite good. Everyone enjoyed their food. Thank you.

What an absolute GEM in the middle of the American heartland! Owner and bartender were friendly and helpful, pork chile verde pictured (on left) were the best I've ever had in my life. Dish was called "Tres Mexicanas." Prices were a real bargain, too. If you're on a cross country trip taking I-80 this place is worth your time for a stop. Absolutely incredible!
