Springs Garden — Restaurant in Avoca

Placed an online order and had a 30min wait for food to be ready. Arrived at time when my order said it would be ready by. Was told it would be another 10mins. I then waited 30mins before they even started my order. In total, I waited an additional hour in the restaurant for my order!!! If I had not already paid for my food online, I would have left. Owners didn't even seem to know which customers' orders were placed first and which customers had been waiting. Once I got home, my family agreed this was not good chinese food and not worth the price. The chicken was very dry, and fried dumplings were soggy. The dumplings looked and tasted like the frozen kind you would buy from a grocery store. I do not know how this restaurant has received good reviews. I was in town for the weekend, read the reviews and decided to give them a try. I was more than pleased with the experience! Ordered chicken w Bok Choy, Shrimp w Garlic sauce and Hot and Sour soup. These were both excellent and would definitely order again. Egg rolls were perfect. The hot and sour soup was phenomenal, something you’d get from a fine dining Chinese restaurant. You can tell they put love into their cooking. This appears to be just another suburb Chinese take out place with the same menu but don’t be mistaken. The food was absolutely delicious!! The portions were large!! The price was great!! The service was excellent! I think, in comparison to a couple of other similar restaurants around, that this place is far better than the rest!! The Fried Rice was way better than the others! We had Mongolian Beef, Hunan Beef, and Sweet & Sour Chicken Combination Platters, Singapore Lo Mein, Wonton Soup, and an order of Crab Rangoon.
