Was a bit unhappy because Google Maps said this place was like Nonna's in East Windsor - and it's not. Nonna's is a small but full menu Italian restaurant. Pizzeria Da Vinci is focuses on pizza, and grinders, calzones, panini and salads.. Young people at the counter, so listening to the usual high school/college chatter when they were between customers. Very limited seating, seems to do most of its business "to go". And drinks were bottles and cans from cooler fridges at the back of the shop.
That being said, we sat down to eat, and I had the Tuscan Combo panini. It was DELICIOUS! The bread they use for the panini is a seasoned round flatbread about the size of a small pizza, which is cut into quarters to make the panini. So you get a pie wedge of panini. I could make a meal of the panini bread! It looks like you CAN get it as a side, but for twice as much the regular garlic bread with cheese. I made the mistake of getting the regular "garlic bread with cheese". It was basically a small toasted grinder roll, not much garlic butter on it, and what looked and tasted like a few slices of white American cheese that barely covered the bread, and was only slightly melted. Nice crunch on the bread, but definitely NOT what I would serve to anyone as a garlic bread with cheese.
There were pizzas in a case for grab-and-go by the slice, and they had pretty steady business, though not particularly busy. If you go, I would definitely recommend the paninis, skip the regular garlic bread and splurge on the flat bread (but ask first if it's the same as the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately, I had to give this a poor rating. I had eaten there several years ago, and remembered it being of much better quality. I had a small pie, which looked like something out of āHoney, I shrunk the pizza.ā If it was 10 in in diameter, it was a lot. I had a clam topping that didnāt look or taste like anything clam-related, plus was minuscule in amount. If youāre going to charge $2.00 for single topping, it least add a noticeable amount. The taste overall was very bland, and lacking in cheese. If a pizza looks bad, it usually tastes that way too. That was certainly the case here. Although the website says thin crust, the dough was chewy and seemed starved of olive oil. A frozen super market pizza wouldāve tasted far better. With plenty of pizza competition all around, some changes should be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisappointing to say the least. A plain medium cheesy pizza for $14.05 with tax, a bit more than what i think it should cost but if you make a good product then it is justifiable but this is not the case. A thin crust pie, about the only good thing here as the sauce when thick enough to taste seems okay but is so lightly applied it just tints the crust red. The cheese is also too thin barely even able to cover the under portioned sauce and lacks any real flavor. I have had better frozen pizza, first and last time here.
Pros: Good crust, dog liked it
Cons: Light on the blandish cheese, EVEN lighter on the sauce, above average cost for sub-par...
