Unacceptable Behavior at Waffle House #2392
I am profoundly disappointment and utterly dismay at the deplorable treatment my husband, a Veteran of the Air Force, and I experienced at Waffle House #2392 located at 150 Howell Bridge in Ball Ground.
Having been loyal customers for over four decades, we have always held Waffle House in high regard for its stellar service and impeccable food quality. However, our recent visit today, May 11th, shattered our perception of this establishment.
Upon entering the restaurant, we encountered a packed house, as is typical for a Saturday morning. After patiently waiting our turn, my husband, who was in considerable pain due to a recent medical procedure, took a seat at an available table while I briefly excused myself to use the restroom. At this point, the previous patrons had just left, leaving behind dishes and the tip.
To our shock and disbelief, instead of the customary warm greeting and table cleaning, we were met with the following exchange from the waitress, identified as Emmie:
Emmie: “Don’t you ever come in here again and sit down at a dirty table again. That’s disgusting.”
Husband: “Excuse me!”
Emmie: “You heard me, it’s f*cking disgusting, there is still money on this table.”
Husband: “Are you kidding me right now?! I am not in the mood for this young lady, what is your name?”
Emmie: “My name is Emmie, and I am not in the mood either! There is still money and dishes on this table and it's f*cking disgusting that you sat down. Don’t ever do it again.”
Husband: “You are not gonna talk to me that way, who is your manager? I’m gonna tell her that you have just chastised us and cussed us out?”
Emmie: “Go right ahead, y’all are disgusting.”
This incident was not only humiliating but also deeply concerning, especially considering the racial dynamics at play, as we were the only two people of color present in the restaurant. Emmie's loud and disrespectful behavior drew unwanted attention and added to our sense of alienation and discomfort.
This exchange occurred in front of other patrons, including children, causing further embarrassment and discomfort. Even after my husband attempted to address the situation by requesting to speak to the manager and informing them that Emmie had used inappropriate language, her disrespectful behavior persisted. In fact, when my husband mentioned that Emmie had used the f-word, she interrupted him and repeated the word again in front of children. One of the parents rightfully intervened, saying, “Hey, watch your mouth, my kids are sitting here.” This further highlighted Emmie's disregard for professionalism and respect for both customers and their families.
In light of this appalling experience, we have regrettably concluded that we can no longer patronize Waffle House #2392. Such behavior is utterly unacceptable and does a disservice to the reputation and values of Waffle House.
We will not be returning to this establishment. While I cannot dictate others' choices, I feel it is essential to warn potential customers about our experience. Until appropriate action is taken against Emmie and measures are put in place to prevent similar incidents in the future, I advise caution when dining at Waffle...
Read moreNot sure who the goofy cook and waitresses are that was working just a few minutes ago. 1-9-2026 around 1:00-1:20. Waitress takes my order. I get my coffee. As I’m waiting on my food I notice the cook is making Mac n cheese and having the waitresses try it. There’s still no sizzling going on. I finally get up and go to pay for my coffee because clearly I’m not getting any food anytime soon. and she says “you had the blah blah blah”. Uh no ma’am, I had a coffee bc your cook has not started cooking my food. He said “oh sorry I forgot” you forgot? This is Waffle House. Your job is to literally take orders and cook it as soon as it’s ordered. TWENTY MINUTES I sat there. TWENTY FREAKING MINUTES. That’s my fault for sitting there that long. I should have left 5 min into it. Not one single employee noticed that he had not started my food yet. Cooks at Waffle House are usually on their game. Amazing workers. This one was not. All he did was lolly gag and talk up a storm. He had the audacity to tell someone “I’m either cooking or cleaning but not doing both” umm sir. You ain’t doing none of...
Read moreWhen this waffle house first opened, my husband and I went to dine there. We always try to support our local businesses. Our first visit was during Covid rules and regulations, social distancing etc. When we walked in the door every available table was dirty, there was trash on the floor, there were four or five people behind the counter talking to each other. We were not addressed or even looked at. We were totally ignored for over 10 minutes, so we left. Several months passed, decided to give them another chance. A husband had early morning doctors appointment in Atlanta, so he stop by early. Same thing, totally ignored. I stopped by again later on because I couldn’t believe the poor service. Same thing. Dirty tables dirty floor and staff more interested in chitchatting then taking care of customers. I go by this location just about every day. I don’t know when they have customers, maybe early in the morning or late at night, but I don’t see how they stay open. Whoever is responsible for the store, needs to make a surprise visit mid day to see...
