China Wok — Restaurant in Ballinger

We were passing through town and wanted something other than fast food or tacos. Found this place, were skeptical but saw good reviews and gave it a shot.

Did not disappoint! Food was fresh and hot, so it was okay that it took a tiny wait to be served. But they brought us the egg rolls that came with our combos beforehand, so we had something to nibble on.

Nice family business. And you can see the kitchen through the counter and can tell it's clean.

Unassuming appearance outside, which only adds to the charm of the delicious food inside.

I am from San Angelo. This place doesn’t look like a whole lot from the outside. But they sure do make up with it with their food. I have eaten at all the Chinese restaurants in San Angelo, but this restaurant from Ballinger, Tx beats them all even Dragonliscious, which is my favorite Chinese restaurant in town. Being an avid Americanized Chinese food aficionado, I love this place. I've eaten it in Chinatown in San Fran, I ate a bunch of it while on a month long business trip in NYC. I have eaten it all over the country. China Wok tastes just like the NYC version. The pork fried rice is exactly like you'll find at most NYC Chinese eateries. Delicious!
