Mom went with me and couldn't eat her breakfast either pancakes no surup with 30 minutes on a regular coffee even asked the ladys they were making new pot ok then sat waiting saw people were getting theres again so asked for ours she said she would bring it right out no so I had to get up and get it myself from counter but I thought first day problems. I ordered over medium came out fried hard Yoakum was solid hashbrowns were grated asked for crispy bacon was not the case I believe they are trying to run it like a fast food place you go in oder at counter pay and go sit down no waitress taking order and paying for it at end only like 10 tables in place im sorry I gave them 3 trys got salsa with breakfast tacos but wasn't offed it with any other order Sorry for this post I really wanted them to make it but most people are on fixed incomes that might go in there for breakfast and lunch we cant afford to waste our money on this type of food or service yes not saying they don't have people that work out here and go in their but most of us can't do this around 13.00 for breakfast I expect good food and a little service I still leaft a tip but I don't think...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is by far my favorite spot on Lake Medina. This is not your typical coffee house, Cafe. The Out of the Way Cafe has so much to offer and so much to give. The food is amazing, it is always fresh and the quality is un matched. They don't cut corners. Great example: they butter and toast the tortillas, unlike most places that maybe throw them on the grill for a few seconds. This little thing makes the tacos taste divine. Now let's talk about the coffee. They roast their own beans and have a full coffee/espresso bar. You can also buy beans and ground bags to go. It doesn't matter if you want a black cup of coffee or your favorite soy, no sugar, frapa drink it's gonna be good. We have now determined that the food is on point and the coffee is spot on. Let's talk about giving. These guys give back to the community. They are always doing toy runs and taking donations to help those who need a hand up. They also run a true nonprofit called "Helping the Homies." No money changes hands. People bring food, clothing items, household items, etc, and they are placed in small metal buildings so people in need can help themselves. Not to mention the point they offer FREE lunch to the children of Bandera country. With all of this said, the price of the food and coffee is beyond reasonable. Please give these guys a shot as not only will they nourish your body, but they will help...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely fantastic, quaint, family-oriented cafe. The food prices make you feel like you're robbing them blind with the high quality, quantity, and care they put into their dishes. My girlfriend had the french toast (superb!) and I had the country fried steak breakfast with eggs, hash browns, biscuits and gravy. Steak was cooked to perfection with a nice crisp and not chewy as is the norm for that cut. What truly impressed me though were the hash browns and eggs. Most diners and cafes serve you up something that's just passable, almost flavorless, and either dry or sloppy. Both were seasoned well and the eggs were perfectly fluffy. The hash browns were crisped very well without being dried out or nothing but crunch. Biscuits were fresh, very fluffy, and buttery topped with some great sausage gravy. And if there's one thing growing up with a southern grandma has made me wary of, it's a stranger's biscuits and gravy!
Additionally, the coffees we had (chai tea latte and french vanilla latte) were great.
If you find yourself out around Lake Medina wanting some great breakfast/lunch options at an even better price, make this a priority stop! I know I'll be looking forward to their food the next time I'm...
