Rivera's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Bangs

Tonight was my first time eating here & it will now be my go to for mexican food. The chips & salsa were great, with one of my table mates taking her extra salsa home because it was so delicious. For my meal I got the chimichanga plate & couldn't believe the flavor explosion I was tasting. It had fajita meat flavored to perfection, inside of a flour tortilla that was deep fried & covered in queso. I got double rice & it was served with Lettuce, tomatoes & sour cream. You can tell this food is cooked fresh & with love. The restaurant was clean, the service was fast & efficient & the prices were reasonable. When I first arrived I saw they had a Catfish plate as the special & asked for a little sample because I'm picky when it comes to Catfish. While waiting on the fish, I opened the menu & everything had a picture & a description. So after seeing all of the pictures I choose my meal without tasting the fish. But after my sample was brought out, I would have loved that as well. It was cooked just right with a crunchy outside & a delicate, flaky inside. Several of the friends I was with said they had never gotten a bad meal here & had eaten there several times. I love to see a mom & pop business do well & know these guys will be in business for a long time after eating here!! Well done!! As a footnote, we spoke to the new owner, they have been open under new ownership for 4 months after the previous owner got sick. So go give this brand new...

I have eaten here 4 times already. First time wasn’t bad, second time t got burritos to go, there was something terribly wrong with them. They both tasted soured. We couldn’t eat them! 🤢 3rd time I ordered Queso and chips. Wasn’t bad and price was good too! 4th time was the charm! I’m Done! Ordered cheese enchilada plates with rice & beans without onions! It was correct. Ordered beef enchilada with rice & beans and no onions. Came without beans and the beef had onions. Also ordered a big order of chips & salsa, came with a small package of chips that was smaller than a sandwich bag and salsa came in a 2oz cup. 😞 also ordered Queso and chips large. The queso came in a 3 ounce cup and no chips at all so I have a half a sandwich bag of chips for everything. I felt like I paid for 4 meals when I paid and only 1 thing...

We only have take out to review. When they first opened the food was average. After visiting three times over seversl months the food was still just average. Recently we ordered take out three times in two months. There's new cooks and the difference is amazing. Consistent above average good food. We've paid premium prices at premium Mexican food restaurants and Riveras food is by far superior. Excellent! Impressive! Keep doing what...
