IDK Cafe — Restaurant in Baring

We visited this cafe after reading about it in the Rural Missouri magazine. We were also told about it by our neighbors. I had the fried chicken with spicy fried green beans. The chicken was fried perfectly. It was lightly coated and crispy, which didn't take away from the chicken flavor. The chef knows how to fry chicken. All the pieces of chicken were very juicy. The fried green beans were great. I never had green beans that way before, and I was surprised how good they were. I will go back and try more items off the menu. IDK cafe has excellent food and great service. The prices are very reasonable. Their fried chicken is superb and there are so many homemade sides and desserts to choose from. IDK cafe has a wonderful small town atmosphere. It brings back memories of eating with my grandparents and dad at the ma and pa cafes in Lancaster when I was young. Neat, out of the way place with a lot of charm. Be sure to get there early or be willing to share a table, lol. We got there at noon and it was full. We shared a table with a great couple that drove there from Greentop. Fried chicken was excellent, green beans were perfect and the portions were large. The coleslaw tasted a little sour to me, so I didn't eat it. The mashed potatoes were good but instant. The white gravy was delicious and had sausage in it! We will be back to try...
