This is one of the only places to eat in Barnesville as of 3/25/24. Food is what I have grown to expect from fast food. I no longer eat here. There are usually long lines both inside the small eating areas which can fit 6 or so large families or several small groups maybe sharing part of your table, extra chair etc. Summer time offers limited outdoor seating but then you are next to the drive-thru or directly in front of customers parking to go inside so not the most peaceful. There are over 11 parks in Barnesville that would be better alternatives if you picked up your order to go and wanted to enjoy yourself without prying eyes. Food temps are a 50/50 most of the time where it may or may not be fully heated through, fries could be super hot (fresh and noticeable difference) or soggy and barely warm to touch. They used to have a $5.00 meal which was a drink, burger, fries and small sundae or for $1.00 more you could make it a small blizzard. I haven't seen that deal in a few years. Best to stick with ice cream since it is an ice cream place. If it's later spring, check out Renee's diner off of 34 which is on the other side of the freeway for food and dessert. You will be spending $10 on average give or take with tax for 1 adult more if you want a better upgrade sandwich or super sized. Hope that helps. Otherwise you can see if Subway happens to be open, Purple goose , or...
Read moreUpdate: 7months after this original post, I am upping their rating from 1 star to 3 stars. This is the first time we received our food in a timely fashion. Ketchup included without asking and its the dipping one instead of the packets that you can't use in the car. If it's this good of an experience next time, I'll assume something has changed and up the stars to 5. Keep up the good work.
"We travel past here every weekend and stop here often but the wait times keep getting longer and longer.
We have waited five mintues or more before we finally have to ask if they are ready for us to order because they do not acknowledge anyone's presents. One time we ordered and sat in the drive thru for over 20mins. Usually it takes at least 15mins even when there are only two cars in front of us and all we ordered was ice cream.
If you order fries they never offer ketchup. When you ask for ketchup they never have the packets you can dip into...so I guess I can just squeeze the ketchup packets into my hands to eat the fries that way?
We have finally started leaving our destination earlier to stop at the dq in Devil's Lake to avoid this place...how disappointing.
Would love to give them another chance if the service improves...and seriously, just invest in the ketchup packets that you can...
Read moreWent through the drive-thru, ordered, went to the drive-thru window and paid. Received my food and drove home to eat there. Food has always been a hit or miss at this Dairy Queen to be honest. This Dairy Queen basically has the option of hamburgers or ice cream. I am unsure about how they prepare their french fries but they're not like traditional fried fries and usually are a bit limp, not very warm and either have too much salt or not enough. I ordered the $7 special which comes with a burger, fries a medium sized drink which seems small to me and an ice cream which you can pay a dollar to upgrade to a blizzard super small Blizzard. Like usual, my food was lukewarm and lacked appeal. The redeeming Factor was the blizzard. Value isn't very good. There are maybe four places maybe five if open, in barnesville Minnesota that you can actually eat out at and you aren't given much of a choice. This Dairy Queen closes around 9:00 p.m. also most places in barnesville close by 6:00 p.m. so if you're really hungry, just know you're not giving very many options to eat out in Barnesville. I would only order ice cream or the ice cream cakes from this Dairy Queen but as far as food goes maybe opt for...
