Needless to say, my best friend Ron and I are pizza enthisuast. We travel all around the country trying every pizza we can. We have developed our own system to evaluate the taste and quality of each and every pizza we try. St Nicholas Hotel has proven to surpass our standards and expectations in every category. The upskirt of the pizza showed no burn marks and provided a soft floury touch against our pallets. The sauce was phenomenal proving to be the best feauture of the pie with a subtle taste of sweetness but not overwhelming and a bit of zest. On top of the sauce lied a smooth layer of cheese with a coastline and a modest cheese drag. Finally, we chose to go with the simple topping of pepperoni which was delicatley sliced into thin circles which worked great with the cheese and the sauce. Overall, we rate this as a 5-Star pizza. Read moreUsed to love this place, but tonight’s experience was the worst ever. Waitress forgot to bring one member of our party a drink. Then, we ordered two large pizzas, with varying toppings, and one was brought out nearly 20 minutes before the other, so some members of our party were eating while others waited. Also, for a child in the group, we ordered chicken tenders and French fries. When they brought her food, they have her wings and French fries. When we told them we ordered chicken tenders not wings, they said they knew, but were out of them. They never bothered to tell us that and there was no way our six year old would eat wings. The waitress was completely unapologetic about their unapproved substitution and, to add insult to injury, they charged us for the wings that we never even ordered. TERRIBLE...
Read moreThe only place in Nicktown that has more history than the Saint Nicholas Hotel is the Daint Nicholas Church, before this building became a restaurant loved by people from towns all over it has had several different uses throughout its history. As far as I can tell the building was built at LEAST as far back as the 1860s, and not only was it once a hotel as the name implies, it also served as a small hospital back in the day. On the walls of the dining room there are pictures of what the building looked like in its early days, and the menus also have a brief history if the building printed on them. This place is a must see for anyone who is a history buff...
