Jackie's Tavern and Restaurant — Restaurant in Barrington

PLEASE READ** I don’t usually post like this, however I feel this needed to be said in fairness for the restaurant. Which by the way I found to be great. But the person who left the one star above saying they would never go back that he waited 10 minutes to be told another 15 etc.. Etc. I witnessed that exchange from my table. This is what really happened. And I feel compelled to let anyone looking for a good place to eat and read these reviews to call this gentleman out on his actions. There was a line inside people were standing. A sign with big letters saying please wait to be seated. This gentleman walked in the dining room is to the right he went in the room to the left. That room isn’t open to customers yet. The lights weren’t on the tables weren’t set there was nobody in there. It was a no-brainer. They weren’t seating people there, but he didn’t care. After a length of time he approach the young lady and the young man at the front desk who by the way, where is polite could be. And did nothing but be a bully when he asked how much longer do I have to wait And they told him 15 minutes because it was a 15 minute wait. He never asked the money first came in. He just walked in and sat down in the other room. And when they told him that he dress them down in front of everyone in the restaurant. There are many things I’d like to say about this man however, I’m just gonna leave it to the facts. When he got done belittling that young lady in that young man, he turned around and whipped the door open to leave, upon doing so that door hit a woman waiting in line and knocked her out of the way and he just took off. Take this for what it’s worth but pretty much everybody in the dining area watch this whole thing and we couldn’t help but hear it. He makes it sound so innocent but it’s a brand new restaurant just opened this week. They were having a few hiccups, but the food was good. The Waitt staff was pleasant. I think he just couldn’t wait to be the first one to leave a one star review. He should be ashamed of himself. He’s lucky nobody that I know of. Got his plate and called the cops for assault and battery on the woman or for creating a public disturbance in the front hall. And he’s lucky they wanted some other people there that would’ve helped them out that door. So I hope you’ll ignore that first one star review. Thank you...

Was excited to see a newer breakfast place within driving distance of our camp! This place is really new, the sign is a little confusing as to what time they serve breakfast till etc, we arrived around 1pm and sign said breakfast till 11:30 I believe, but I had my wife go in and ask and they were still serving breakfast so that was good. We ordered and shared cinnamon buns and muffins as a "breakfast starter" they were really good, homemade i'm pretty sure. My wife and youngest are vegetarian, they got there usual omelets with veggies, they liked them, me and my other song got the big breakfast, it was good, we both liked it, I paid an extra 1.50 for the homemade sausage patties, Ive never seen that option before at another breakfast place, so figured I had to try it, it was ok, kinda like a hamburger shaped pattie, with some subtle spices, it didn't blow me away or anything, it was solid and cool that's its homemade but not sure if I would upgrade to that again. We all enjoyed it and we will go back next year when our camp...

Attempted to get breakfast here. We were seated and the waitress managed to bring coffee but then ignored us for a good 15 mins. Eventually we got up and started walking out and the waitress was in the lobby with the hostess so we asked how much do we owe for 2 coffees and added that we sat for a very long and our order was never taken. You'd think that maybe there would have been an apology. Maybe the coffee complimentary since that was a waste of our time. Nope. We were charged $5.60 for 2 coffee. I even had to ask for my change back because she automatically assumed that was a tip. If I could give zero stars I would. Also, who serves coffee without spoons?...
