First visit to PA Dutch country and was looking forward to eating here as it was well rated, close to our lodging, and claimed to be PA Dutch food. It was a terrible disappointment to put it mildly. Took 54 minutes to get our food and that was after I left our table to go ask about it. When it finally came after that long, my chicken and dumplings were cold. I asked the waitress to please warm them in the microwave and she did. Tasted better hot, but still not homemade and tasted like something out of a can. In a large plate of chicken and dumplings there were precious few pieces of chicken and the few that were to be found were cut into tiny pieces approximately 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch wide. I normally weigh all my food as I track everything I eat, and there's no way there was more than an ounce and a half of chicken on the whole plate and that's being generous. Wanted to experience PA Dutch and really wanted to love it, but this most definitely was not the place for it to happen. To their credit, the waitress was very nice, and she apologized several times. She also took one of our meals off the ticket without us asking so it was nice to not have to pay so much for such a bad experience. Seems they are short on help like most places these days. Didn't fully explain the horrible experience though, especially when the table that sat down at the same time we did right across from us had gotten their food and already finished eating by the time we finally got our food. Not sure what happened, but I won't give it a chance to...

Read moreJohn G's review is extremely misleading. We were there that day and they showed up unannounced with 45 people. To expect a small place like this to accommodate that group size without notice is unreasonable. They were very rude, loud, and aggressive. I would have asked them to leave. The owner came in and spoke with him and explained he could not accommodate seating for that size group, they could order take-out and they'll do the best they can. While they were waiting, the whole group stood in the dining area, crowding the customers at their tables. As soon as someone left their table they sat at it before it was even cleaned off and so then the servers are without tables and are making no tips. Some of them were even so discourteous as to bring food and drink in from their vehicle and eat at the tables. When trying to pay our bill, we had to ask them to step aside so we could get to the register. While trying to pay, the leader came up butted in and ordered coffee and changed his mind on what he wanted four times. The girl at the register was visibly shaken. If they showed up at my restaurant again I would turn them away.
Then he leaves a negative review without telling the complete truth. It's ok to be disappointed, it's NOT ok to smear a business because you don't understand the concept of...
