Trying Amish Owned Restaurant! Hometown Kitchen at 18 Furnace Rd, Quarryville, PA. About 2.5 hrs from NYC! . . . #newyork #amish #amishcountry #food #travel

First time dining here, and it definitely won’t be our last! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed—the place was absolutely spotless, one of the cleanest restaurants we've ever seen. That alone set a great tone. Our server, Anna, was fantastic—attentive, courteous, and genuinely kind. She made us feel right at home. We started with the cheddar soup, which was piping hot and bursting with flavor—perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt. For our main dishes, we had the roast beef with gravy, mashed potatoes, and a side of corn. Everything was rich, comforting, and cooked to perfection. The meatloaf was another standout—so tender and packed with flavor. We also tried the chicken wrap, which was fresh, tasty, and incredibly satisfying. Every dish arrived hot and full of flavor. You can tell there’s real care put into the food here. We left full and very happy. Huge thanks to the team for such a wonderful experience!

Very lovely Amish women will serve you the finest meal. Their menu is quite large, they are like a diner but Amish style! Its almost like home made. My most favorite thing i have ever tasted in my life is in their kitchen... Cream Broccoli 🥦 Soup. Deserts... unspeakable. Delicious. They have a whole variety and its 2 to 3 times cheaper than an average diner cheese cake which is like 7 bucks, here you can get a regular for under 4 bucks. But their deserts vary, nothing expensive at all. Let these images of food I got speak for themselves. I also included all their menu pages too. *UPDATE* Service is still top quality and food quantity Is over the top. You will take home and enjoy it at home too for such a low price for today's economy. Highly recommend still!

First visit to PA Dutch country and was looking forward to eating here as it was well rated, close to our lodging, and claimed to be PA Dutch food. It was a terrible disappointment to put it mildly. Took 54 minutes to get our food and that was after I left our table to go ask about it. When it finally came after that long, my chicken and dumplings were cold. I asked the waitress to please warm them in the microwave and she did. Tasted better hot, but still not homemade and tasted like something out of a can. In a large plate of chicken and dumplings there were precious few pieces of chicken and the few that were to be found were cut into tiny pieces approximately 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch wide. I normally weigh all my food as I track everything I eat, and there's no way there was more than an ounce and a half of chicken on the whole plate and that's being generous. Wanted to experience PA Dutch and really wanted to love it, but this most definitely was not the place for it to happen. To their credit, the waitress was very nice, and she apologized several times. She also took one of our meals off the ticket without us asking so it was nice to not have to pay so much for such a bad experience. Seems they are short on help like most places these days. Didn't fully explain the horrible experience though, especially when the table that sat down at the same time we did right across from us had gotten their food and already finished eating by the time we finally got our food. Not sure what happened, but I won't give it a chance to...

As I stopped in Quarryville to Google directions to Schwenksville pa about 90 min away I saw a sign. This way to Hometown Kitchen. Hungry, I proceeded to find it less than a minute away across from BART FIRE COMPANY. SUZANNA, my server greeted me with a smile and told me about the Wednesday Special Homade/Amish Chicken Croquettes including 2 of 10 side dishes. I decided on Meat loaf I ordered the pot salad and coleslaw plus I ordered string beans all plentiful portions. Plus bread and butter. Suzanna delivered meal within a few minutes of ordering it. I had Tapioca Pudding & Whip cream for dessert. Rosa the other server worked hard with Suzanna as the back room was filling up, but they both took care of all, no problem. The restaurant was very clean as well as the restrooms. Beautiful Wall to Wall pictures in back room As well as Biblical sayings tactfully posted Throughout. Well priced Mon Chicken Cordon Bleu Tues BBQ Meatballs over Noodles Wed Chicken Croquettes Thurs Crab Biscue in bread bowl along with 1/2 pound Shrimp Fri Amish Wedding Meal (Homemade Bread Filling w Chicken, Masded Potatoes,, Creamed Celery, Pep Slaw Saturday Baby Back Ribs All $15.00- $20.50 range. John G's review is extremely misleading. We were there that day and they showed up unannounced with 45 people. To expect a small place like this to accommodate that group size without notice is unreasonable. They were very rude, loud, and aggressive. I would have asked them to leave. The owner came in and spoke with him and explained he could not accommodate seating for that size group, they could order take-out and they'll do the best they can. While they were waiting, the whole group stood in the dining area, crowding the customers at their tables. As soon as someone left their table they sat at it before it was even cleaned off and so then the servers are without tables and are making no tips. Some of them were even so discourteous as to bring food and drink in from their vehicle and eat at the tables. When trying to pay our bill, we had to ask them to step aside so we could get to the register. While trying to pay, the leader came up butted in and ordered coffee and changed his mind on what he wanted four times. The girl at the register was visibly shaken. If they showed up at my restaurant again I would turn them away.

Then he leaves a negative review without telling the complete truth. It's ok to be disappointed, it's NOT ok to smear a business because you don't understand the concept of...
