Patio Drive In — Restaurant in Bass River Township

I really hate giving such a low star review, as the people who run this place are so nice. I also hate giving two stars because most likely, if you stick with the ice cream, you’re good! However, I tend to think that it is possible to judge a restaurant by how well they prepare a simple dish. If they can’t handle that, I’m really not interested in trying anything more. I ordered a simple cheese sub with tomatoes, lettuce, a little onion, and oil/vinegar. This is the most basic of sandwiches, but you’d be surprised how good or bad they can be. When it came out, it was a roll with provolone cheese, a lot of shredded iceberg lettuce, a lot of onions, and one thin slice of tomato. I’m not getting any meat, right? So why not give me a bunch of tomato? The roll was not an AC roll (like from Rando’s). I don’t know what kind it was but it was not good. The lettuce and cheese sandwich cost $6.99, the same amount as any other sub with meat on it. I also ordered a chocolate malt, which was ok. It wasn’t totally mixed. There were chunks throughout. Luckily, I like chunks, so that’s ok. My own take on this place based on my limited experience is that it is really cute and the people seem so kind, and it is very clean, but do stick to tried and true basics, and to the ice cream. This is a small local pizzeria /mexican/italian/burger joint we just happened on. The place was clean and the staff friendly. I had the daily special which was local scallops with corn on the cob and french fries. It was so, so much better than I expected. Omg i can't rave enough over this and the lady working there. She was amazing and brought our takeout to us twice. She was the best. Now the food OMG i have Hard shell taco with pork and wow. The fried corn chips even more oh god lol. I cant wait till Friday to go back there and try the shrimp tacos. Plus the sauce and hot sauce wow. They so deserve lots of people there.
