Broadway FAMILY Grill — Restaurant in Bay City

Stopped here for the first time this evening after work. Ordered a sandwich and soup. Got told they were out of soup. Instead I ordered a small appetizer. I received the app but no dipping sauce with it. Two different waitresses asked me if I wanted sauce as I waited. Eventually, I got tired of waiting and ate. 10 minutes went by and they brought the sauce to me after I had already finished the app (asked for the sauce to be hot, and it was cold). The waitress apologized (multiple tables received apologies... For various things). The sandwich was fine... Fresh and hot as were the fries. The interior was very quiet... dead silent... making it feel awkward. Some music in the background would help to fill the void. The menu touts that you can find something regardless of dietary needs. In reality, that's not the case. The menu is huge and over priced as well. $15 for just a sandwich that didn't impress. The employees and managers also could use some proper attire. The manager should not be wearing an oversized T-shirt and sweatpants. Most of the staff were dressed like they were wearing pajamas or gym clothing. The dishwasher was wearing pink gloves to do dishes, and used those same gloves to handle clean silverware. One waitress was cleaning quite a bit, but the dozen or so employees/friends/family that kept coming and going in the kitchen... Most were chit chatting. Lots of socializing. Very lax on management and direction. Overall, it was a disappointment and the crew here could use a good leader with real restaurant experience to help whip them into shape. It has potential, but a very, very long way to go. Likely will not be back for quite some time to see if...

Tldr: the dinner, the burgers, the breakfast... amazing. The service or refills... not so much.

The food, first and foremost, is why we keep coming back. It's great, portions are great, and the price is great. Hands down.

e've been here upwards of 10 times now. The last 4 times in a row we've had issues with the orders being taken correctly, which is not a big deal. But, we just never ended up getting what we ordered afterwards. We are understanding, we waited for a while. Instead it was removed from the bill and we ended up going to a restaurant down the road to get something or a fast food joint. If you're a person who likes drinks... refills are non-existent. One cup of coffee or one pop is all we've gotten. The last few times.

Today was our last time coming here. 4/5 orders were wrong or messed up in some way. Runny yolks on food that was supposed to be scrambled, scrambled on the food that was supposed to have runny yolks. Missing an entire entree, after we made sure to tell her we never got it we got a entree we did not order. Toast and extra toast, came upwards of 15 minutes after our food. Cold hashbrowns, no spoons to mix our coffee, no refills on coffee or pop. I wrote my original review on Facebook, 5 stars. One time, sure no problem. Twice, hey it happens. 3... ok whats up... 4... We hope to try again in...

The food is bland and unseasoned. Per the waitress " we don't season our food in case someone has allergies." No amount of salt and pepper applied after cooking will make up for lack of seasoning before and during the cooking process when the food takes it all in. We didn't even take home our leftovers, it was THAT bad.

We've been twice. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. Both within the first month of opening (1st and 4thish weeks). The service was mediocre both times also. I've talked with others on fb and they had similar complaints where the waitresses takes forever to get your order, then doesn't check in at your table, and instead walks off and LOUDLY gossips with other customers or staff. Doesnt matter if its 10am or 8 pm, same service both times with different waitresses. The BUSSERS did the majority of the work of bringing us drinks and food and that's because we had to wave them down. After our last breakfast (they brought me a breakfast platter and forgot my eggs), we left only a $1 for the waitress and gave the rest to the busser directly since they actually did all the work.

We were so excited to get a new restaurant in the south end and don't see this one lasting much more than a couple years either. I sincerely hope they start SEASONING their food and make it better so that they can become a...
