This review is long overdue. Manger holds a special place for my wife and I as it is "Our Place" We are newly married and it has been host to many of our special occasions, from one of our first dates, to where we ate the night I proposed, our final special dinner with family before we moved to Virginia in Spring of 2023, and even a dinner date on the patio with our new puppy Finn. The food has always been wonderful and the atmosphere is perfect, intimate and quaint. But what we had fallen in love with is the staff and the service. We've always felt welcomed and invited, almost like a welcome home every time we come in the door. While many places have great food that level of interest and care to make our night there something special, even if it was a quick mid week meal because we didn't feel like cooking that night. In November of 2023 (yes, like I said LONG overdue) my wife and I were traveling back to Minnesota around the time of my wife's birthday. I made a reservation as I knew we would love going to "our place" to celebrate her birthday. I also gave a call just to confirm and let them know how much Manger had meant to us and had been a part of many special occasion in our new life together. They were super thrilled that we were traveling back to MN and wanted to make sure to come visit the restaurant to celebrate the birthday. From the moment we arrived the entire staff was over the top and knew of our various experiences there and truly went ABOVE and BEYOND to make our night and my wife's birthday super memorable. We got VIP service and that care and attention that we've always received was on full display that night. It is an experience we still talk about today, and will always remember. The waitress Liz was very informative and knowledgeable about the menu and explained everything to us. I had a tap beer Connor had a French press coffee to start. Then we each had two fresh lead delivered that day oysters for $2.50 a piece. Oysters came with homemade hot sauce they were delicious. We each had the manger Burger medium rare. I got to tell you the burger was perfectly cooked medium rare and was very delicious. The cook toasted the bun in the oven so the whole bun was toasted. Really good cheese and caramelized onions and homemade honey mustard was delicious. $14 for the burger. Very reasonable for the great quality it was. Read moreFirst, the food was delicious and the outside seating was very pleasant. The staff was very knowledgeable. I ordered salmon and it was at best 1.5 to 2 ounces of fish. It was a smaller in length than the size of a credit card, and it was triangular in shape was it was tiny. I wish I had taken a photo. My husband was shocked at the small portion of my salmon. The plate was full of sauce but the salmon was very diminutive . While it was delicious, it was unacceptable small. The price was $38 for this. I woke up in my hotel room hungry. I also had a beet salad. I thought the beets would be fresh and roasted but the texture of the beets were similar to what you would get from a jar.
