Lu Lu's Restaurant @ Gatos — Restaurant in Bedford Charter Township

Last night was my second time dining at Lulu's. You feel welcome and at home from the second that you walk through the door.

The owners are there, present, and they ensure that you are enjoying yourself and that you are very well taken care of.

The diversity of the diners, was truly impressive to me. The fact that you can walk into a black-owned restaurant, see many nationalities, and every single person is enjoying themselves and the food, and feeling like one big family, is something that I haven't experienced until last night.

The environment is relaxed, and our waitress was the sweetest, kindest soul. She truly made absolutely sure that we were taken care of.

Another thing that stuck out to me was how the owner interacted with her staff. They seemed to have a motherly honor, respect and love for her. It seemed as if they were at work by choice, and that they themselves wanted the owners and the restaurant to succeed.

When I first researched this restaurant and noticed that there were only great reviews, I figured that the owners had somehow deleted the bad reviews. However, after eating takeout the first time, and dining in last night, I completely understand why the high reviews were given. I had one of my best experiences last night at Lulu's.

Decided to stop in after looking for a new place to try on Google and it did not disappoint. The minute we walked through the door we were greeted by multiple staff and the atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. Our server was amazing, attentive and very informative on drinks and events. Every Thursday night is Ladies Night and I definitely plan on coming back with some girlfriends to show them the place. We got the garlic steak bites for an app which were to die for they just melt in your mouth, and for entrees we got the catfish basket and smash burger basket. The catfish is magnificent but the sides is trash I had dressing which was really just stuffing and sage it was so gross do not recommend & macaroni was so bland and dry then the food I see everyone else gets they don’t serve til I think 6 to close the menu was wack wasn’t much on there I had to ask about mostly anything I wanted because it wasn’t written down on the menu and the prices neither.
