This place ran downhill fast. We used to frequent Brenda’s often under old ownership. Since new owners the prices have risen, and service has slowed dramatically. We have tried them literally 5 times and each time is something silly like listening to waitresses bad mouth american table staff instead of working. We have already stopped dining in at ‘new’ Brenda’s due to the painfully slow service when they are not even busy. We thought well atleast we can still help a local business by doing carryout. But this place can’t seem to do that either. Today I called at 11:45 to place an order. I was told 15-20 min (slower than old brenda’s but not that bad), drove there and at 22 minutes I saw them just then come into the kitchen with part of my order to start cooking, there were only 3 tables with customers. I was offered a soda for my wait,? Not sure why, I just wanted to get my food and leave. Get my food, come home and see no salad.. call back and am told that does not come with salad, I explain it says that it comes with fries or salad on their facebook, pic included here. They tell me no it must have been a typo, so the whole line fries soup or salad was in error? Why when I ordered and said with salad with french dressing did no one say ok that doesn’t come with that, and why wasn’t it charged separate an billed since you took the order? We may not be back and we can not in good conscience recommend them to anyone. I hope ownership takes these complaints serious but as I believe it was the owner who likely posted to facebook and then blamed a typo, I do not have much hope and will not be holding my breath. Honestly the only thing that keeps this place at all like Brenda’s is the cake, but guess what, they made the cake pieces smaller too. Worth driving somewhere...
Read moreBrenda worked tirelessly for years to build a faithful customer base by treating our neighbors like family. The new owner couldn’t care less about our community. Brenda’s clientele is primarily elders. They do not have a senior menu & splitting a meal will cost you $1.50 for the plate. The famous chocolate cake is no longer made by Brenda & now costs $6/piece. The “homemade”pie is bought at Gordon’s for $8 & sold $5/slice. The broasted chicken used to come with soup or salad but that choice now costs $1.50. If you want to add 10 blueberries to your pancakes that will be an additional $1.50. Need a little extra gravy? $3! Want lettuce on your kids burger? $1 a tomato? Another $1. They are understaffed & overpriced! You will wait 20/30 minutes for your to go & STILL need to check your bag because things will be forgotten. They have good servers but unfortunately work them to the point of exhaustion with 12 hour shifts. I worked for Ms. Brenda for years & it’s absolutely heartbreaking watching this business get ran into the ground by an inexperienced owner who verbally...
Read moreOverall a very disappointing experience. I wish I could say otherwise because my waitress was very friendly and had a great smile, but her service was just not there. When she first came to my table to get my order I asked her what she recommended and she said everything was good I said OK I’ll take the… But before I could even finish my sentence she just turned around and walked away. 15 minutes later she came over to take my order and I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and when she asked me how I wanted it I said medium to medium rare. Of course the burger was ultra extra well done; Dry with no taste to it at all. There were many times where I wanted to catch her attention and she was too busy didn’t even look my way and that if she did come over she will just drop something on my table and keep going not even look or talk or ask how things were going. Again she was very friendly and had a great smile, she was the Hispanic girl; I ate there around 12:30 in the afternoon, but all the bad things and all forced me to leave...
