Picture this: It's Friday night and I call my honey on the way home from work. "Could you stop and pick up that Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo I've been dying to try? I've been craving that for months now and it's time." So of course I say yes and go the 15m out of the way. Try to find something suitable for myself on the to-go menu, salad and entree offerings are slim. Had their pizza many times before and it's okay, sort of, but my gut's just too tired of bread and gluten, nothing looks satisfying. An antipasto would have been great, but no such luck. Decided on the GF Mediterranean chicken pizza anyway.
Service folks are nice enough. High school kids like most pizza joints. "The entree comes with a salad. What kind of dressing would you like?" "Italian of course!" I grab an app and a soda to top it off.
I settle in to wait, it's Friday night, it will take some time, but they'll have their A-team on point I'm sure. Bedford soccer moms and dads with attitude start streaming in with the kids to "support" the live music guy. In such a small place and all his electric stuff. Hm.
Finally get my order, head on home. "Thanks honey I'm starving it's been a long week and this has been on my mind. I can't wait." Tear into the package...ugh. There's little to no Alfredo sauce, flat breaded chicken patty sliced up and broccoli was barely heated. Saying the flavor was bland would be giving it too much credit. An Alfredo should be swimming in creamy goodness and the chicken grilled and tender. They certainly had enough time to do that to-order for how long it took. Side salad was nowhere to be found...not even the dressing.
The GF Mediterranean was tasty enough, I suppose, but the meager toppings were clumped in the middle and too much exposed crust. At least it had chunks of tender chicken...mostly too large to get in your mouth in one bite. The thing with GF crust is you gotta spread out the toppings so there's something to combine with the dry tasteless crust.
So we know they do grilled chicken but they can't offer it on their $20 alfredo? They surely didn't waste any money on the sauce!
$55 gone for a $15 experience. At least...
Read moreThis hot sandwich was supposed to be a chicken Parmesan sub, it had pieces of chunk chicken and sauce. Every chicken Parmesan sub I ever had in my life has had a Fried piece of breaded chicken covered in cheese and marinara sauce , this sub was absolutely not that! I ate it anyway because I was hungry but it was definitely a disappointment. Although I have had other food from Pizza Mia that I was totally satisfied with.
“In response to Pizza Mia’s reply” i’m sorry I didn’t know that pizza Mia doesn’t have a fryer. When I called to place an order for pick up The person on the phone didn’t tell me that it wasn’t a chicken Parmesan sandwich. I think then that pizza Mia should probably not call it a chicken Parmesan sub than, because it’s deceiving, unintentionally I’m sure. How about chicken Breaded and baked in the oven? Just a thought thank you I...
Read moreI ordered online for pickup on my way home from work a few weeks ago. When I arrived they were obviously busy and even with what appeared to be plenty of staff there was just a logjam of orders. My order should have been ready by my arrival but I ended up having to wait almost 30 minutes. The owner(?) was extremely apologetic and proceeded to comp my entire order. I didn't expect this at all, in fact I think he went above and beyond. They acknowledged the fact that I should have been called so I could be warned about the wait, but with how busy they were I couldn't blame them. I've been to Pizza Mia before, and will be back again. Good food, friendly staff, and they do the right thing and then some when things aren't perfect. I know that my experience that evening isn't a regular occurrence for them and how busy they were only shows how...
