A few friends and I were excited to check out this place. We were on our bikes and decided to stop at Stearman because we heard it was a great place to go. Upon arrival, the atmosphere is pleasant. Some motorcycles even parked on the air strip, which was super cool.
However, if you're looking for great customer service, to eat within an hour, and have tasty food, and a correct tab, I would NOT recommend going here.
We had a 30 minute wait, which is normal when restaurants are busy, so didn't mind. Four of us sat at the bar to get some drinks in the interim. The bartender was extremely busy so we waited to be served. She never acknowledged us and we were literally right in front of her. 15 minutes later, more customers came over to the bar and she ended up serving those people before us. Needless to say, she finally asked us for our drink order. We all ordered Bloody Mary's. She asked us for our names so she could put our orders on the appropriate tabs. I recommend requesting for your vodka on the side because as we all observed sitting there for 40 mins, she completely skimped on the liquor. She only poured 1/2 shot of vodka for all of our drinks (2 count, not 4) - not just once, but for two rounds of drinks.
Because we were there for almost an hour, we decided to just place our order of food at the bar and when a table opened, we would go to sit there. When a free table opened, we waited for another 15 minutes for the bartender to grab her attention so we could pay our tabs. Which she didn't even get that right. 2 of the 3 tickets were wrong. I recommend that as a customer you review your order before you pay it!!!
I tried to have her fix it, but she was so overwhelmed with taking drink orders that she said we would have to wait for the manager. I ended up just paying for the other tickets that she OVERCHARGED me for, just so i could get the hell out of there.
The overall customer service was horrible! Even the waitress that served us at the table made a comment about the bartender not providing us with our tabs immediately to pay. I asked her if she could get it for me, however, that never happened. We will not be going back to Stearman Field...
Read moreMy family and I went out to celebrate a birthday last night and were greatly disappointed. We knew that they were having a big event so we arrived early (4:30) to get seated and beat the crowd. Even so, the service was slow and unorganized. We waited 20 minutes to receive our drinks after our waiter put our order in. When the drinks finally came out, everything was in plastic cups including my white Zinfandel. Classy. In addition, my wife ordered a draft and chose the 24 oz. (over the 16 oz.). When she received her drink, it was the same amount as everyone else’s in spite of the fact that her beverage cost more! As far as the food order, I chose a 6” pizza but, 20 min. later, my waiter came out to inform me that, for whatever reason, the restaurant couldn’t make pizza. He suggested steak tacos as a replacement so, not wanting to delay the rest of our party, I reluctantly agreed. When the tacos came out I was disgusted with the greasy mass of “steak” encased in a flour tortilla. This was the type of steak preparation suitable for a Philly Cheese Sandwich; not steak tacos. I don’t think that my table was the only one affected by the less-than-stellar service. I observed other wait staff wandering around aimlessly with food and drinks like zombies of the apocalypse. I cannot understand how the restaurant was SO seemingly slammed, out of glasses & food and unprepared on a Saturday night and it wasn’t even 6 PM yet! In addition to this, last night was a car show on the runway but it could have been classified as a MAGA Rally. I was walking around looking at cars with my 6 year old grandson who is learning how to read. I can’t tell you how embarrassing it is to expose him to environment full of flags which read, “No More Bulls” and several shirts reading “Trump...F Your Feelings”. As a result, we had to cut our visit short. Obviously, due to the mentality of the clientele and lack of concern by the management, very few customers were wearing masks or observing COVID-19 mitigation. I’ve frequented this establishment numerous time through the years but I believe that yesterday afternoon...
Read moreSeeing as the leadership ignores all comments provided it seems like this constructive criticism will just be ignored. Which, unfortunately, is just a sign of complacency.
I will break my review up into 3 categories. Atmosphere, food, and service. 3 categories I believe that are pillars in the restaurant industry. All of these I will rate on a scale of 1 through 5 and the overall rating of the restaurant provided as an average of the 3 scores.
Atmosphere: 4/5 This restaurant has such an unique atmosphere and scenery. Something that makes it stand out to this community. The leadership without a doubt understands this quality.
Food: 3/5 The menu is rather extensive. The food is relatable. Nothing crazy fancy. Nothing to write home about but something I might come to try again.
Service: 0/5 This area is undoubtedly the weakest category of this restaurant, and seeing from other comments it seems I am not alone in this belief. Host staff will just simply ignore you while you are standing at the check in desk. After checking in online hostess made the comment “just kinda ignored the online check-ins” leading to a longer wait time. When seated wait time to order drinks/food was longer time to receive food and drinks was excessively long. One of the people I had dinner with had small bits of some substance in their drink. We Had 4 different people approach our table durning dinner. Service staff seems very unorganized and confused. This restaurant provides some of the worst service I’ve ever seen at current state.
This restaurant has a huge potential but is held back by the lack of service and the food having a lack of “personality” for lack of a better word. Atmosphere, in my opinion, is the hardest quality to nail in any industry and this establishment has certainly nailed it. Hopefully leadership at this establishment will start accepting and addressing constructive criticism to grow into...
