McCarthy's Pub — Restaurant in Belchertown

The Potential of this of Local Pub and Restaurant Has Fallen Short. When l Walked In and immediately looked to Left is a Sitting area which was messy. There was no one to greet you or sit u! I ask a couple of customers standing there waiting For seating in the bar area. There comment was the following: " U Can Sit Anywhere! Looking and Observing the Bar Area! The Area is so Cramp there's just enough room for one person to get through! When we finally pick out a table and sat down. I notice the popcorn machine. There was popcorn all over the Floor. Our Waitress came over and handed our menus and the evening Specials and took our drink order. She was polite and very good knowledge of menu! We ordered scallops and Bacon/Chowder. Both were very good. The chowder was thick and rich in taste! The bacon was crispy and not greasy. Scallops were cooked perfectly! We had the Italian Scrod Dish. The Food Definitely comes out of the Kitchen Hot! The Fish Dishes were Very Good. This place needs a major makeover on Decor and Furniture! Wait Staff could be uniform in dress code. A Beautiful Shirt with the colors of the Irish Flag! I will be back in the Near Future and Hopefully l Can Give Them 4-5...

Our order came wrong the first time but they fixed right away. We ordered wings, which were very good and each had 2 drinks. Now to the negative. The place just looks really dirty to me. It needs a good cleaning and some updating to brighten things up. They had 2 little kids clearing tables (under 11) to keep them busy. Not very professional. I ordered 2 grey goose cosmos. Now I know with pandemic bs that prices have gone up, but I buy grey goose and triple sec so I know what a full bottle costs. I paid over $15 per drink. To me, that is getting close to almost paying for a small bottle of grey goose. One more drink and the bottle is bought. You get way more than 6 shots out of a small bottle of grey goose. I think it was excessive, but that is my opinion. Hubby and I both woke towards morning with severe stomach pain and bowel issues. I had some nausea 😵 as well. We were not good and only thing we had eaten in 2 days that was common were the wings. We really felt like it was food poisoning. Lasted until next day. I can't say for sure if that was what it was...but doubt we will be...

Been here a couple times for wings and beer, which were great. Stopped in 3/7 at 12:00 for lunch and was overly disappointed. Understaffed and little busy, but not packed. Server was nice, but service a little slow. Large amount of popcorn all over the rug n floor the whole time, no one picked it up. We were told to seat ourselves (by regular patrons there doing some fundraiser) and had to move a table because there was 5 of us. We ordered two burgers, meatloaf dinner, chicken parm sandwich and a reuben. Burgers were smallest I've ever seen; 4" diameter (maybe) on an oversized big bulkie roll. Burgers were dry n overcooked, horrible. Fries were barely warm, some were cold. Meatloaf was ehhh, gravy was chunky n barely warm. Chicken parm was two tenders covered in peppers n onions to fill up space on bulkie roll. Reuben was ok, but again, barely warm.

I'll give it another try sometime if I'm in area, but won't be taking a ride out anytime soon. Place seemed to be mismanaged and definitely...
