I had my wedding reception here. First I thought it was a great price because it was $350 for the day for the room and I was told it came with linens for the tables. I was also told that I did not have to buy food from them, that we could just bring cake and ice cream. A few months later they had a change in management. Then two weeks before my wedding they contact me saying I had to pay extra for linens because I didn't buy food so it couldn't be covered by the service charge that usually came with food. So I pay extra for linens. Then they say we have to buy ice cream through them, so I do that and that adds the service charge, but the extra amount for linens didn't go away. They also said the service charge was only supposed to be 20% of all charges that did not include the venue fee. So my service charge should have been 20% of about $250, but then they say it's $100 (so more like 50%). I also don't know what the service charge was good for because the only help they gave us was making the punch (that they also forced us to pay for but bring our own punch bowl) and cleaning up after (we left the decorations on the tables because we were not going to help through that stuff in the trash when we had paid them to do something). I was told the service charge would pay for them to help serve cake and ice cream and punch but they never helped with any of that. They also messed up the drink station we ordered from them. I said we can just have tea and water, no coffee. They came out with tea and coffee, no water. The tea wasn't even sweat tea (they could have at least asked which one I preferred). The ice cream they made us pay for was an unreasonable price. It was supposed to come with bowls but we had to end up serving it in cups that we bought ourselves. They reduced my bill at the end because of the bowls, but there were too many other things that went wrong for me to not write about it. I would not recommend this place for a reception. Maybe if you bought dinner through them they would treat you better. My original bill was $350, they told me they would not make a profit off of it so they usually only agree to a contract if it is more than $500. Basically they tacked on charges in the end until they could get me above $500. With the new management, they are more worried about making money than keeping a good reputation.

Read moreFirst of all we had a party of 11 which meant we want to sit together. They put us in the banquet room where all the food and servers were, a very bland and generic area. I was expecting with all the new renovations that there would be some ambience even in the banquet room. The main area looked nice and I was expecting to be in there. You would think with all the money they spent they could’ve done a little more with the banquet room, plus they had two gigantic round tables put together, round tables so it was very uncomfortable seating. They should have long tables for big parties. The view was nice of the lake. The salad area had no sneeze guard everything was all open, which is very unsanitary. They did have an omelette bar which was nice and waffle bar area where they made them for you. I was not impressed with their food choices at all. Biscuits were hard the gravy was barely warm bacon was under cooked. The layout was very strange it look like everything just been thrown together. for the price of 1595+ they charged a surcharge on top of that which I did not appreciate and also cut down on the waitresses tips because the surcharge, I felt was excessive. We will probably give it another try in the lounge area for dinner to see if the food is any better. we had a party of 11 and most of us felt the same, too expensive, food was mediocre, ambience in the back room was not good, just a blank room with no decoration. It’s not someplace I would go to on a regular basis because it’s too far out and not impressed with the food or service, very disappointed to...
