Borland's — Restaurant in Belleville

We noticed there were black greasy specs on all of our glasses after we ate our food. We went up to ask the staff about it and one woman said that they knew about the problem. It is on all the serving ware put into the dishwasher. They got a new dishwasher and everything now has black, greasy, specs on it. They said they were told that the chemicals in the dishwasher are eating the rubber hoses and leaving the specs. They said they tried different things to remediate the problem but were told to get a another new dishwasher. But the staff said they just bought one, implying they were not going to pay for another one. The staff had the audacity to seem annoyed when I pushed further after they already said they knew about the problem I do not know how long they have been serving their customers greasy black specs, seemingly made of chemically eroded rubber pieces, but that is disgusting. And the fact that they were very well aware of the problem was more disturbing. This needs to be investigated and the Dane County Public Health has been called. It is very clear that eating chemically eroded anything is not healthy and against public health policy. I feel extremely disturbed that this could be let go, and my eating of chemically eroded rubber pieces was taken so lightly. What else could they have been letting go, that may not be so obvious, if they don't seem to have a problem serving their customers greasy black chemically eroded...

Little Gem! The front of the restaurant is unassuming. However it is like stepping back in time to good ol supper club days. We arrived early by 5pm and sat at one of the bar tables. The place just started filling up. It came alive with the local and out of towners. People were friendly, laughing and having a great time. Only one bartender, but she could make a mean old fashion with a smile! The food arrived fast and HOT by our server Barb. The best fish we have been too in a long time. We have tried several fish frys all over Wisconsin and Borlands tops them all in friendly service and yummy food...

My Grandpa would come and eat here many nights after visiting my Grandma in the nursing home. And before that he would get fish on Friday's when I stayed at their place when I was a kid! Then after Grandma passed, Grandpa still liked to go there. Then after my kids were well past grown, Grandpa and I would come for Friday night fish and a drink.
