Was in the mood for Jamaican food and was anticipating a drive into STL to get some until I found out there was one here on the east side!
Not realizing they closed at 7, I sped over to get there in time and nervous the food wouldn’t be good. When I walked in was met with a friendly welcome and advised only curry and stewed chicken was left, which I wanted oxtail and jerk but decided to try these anyway. It came with rice and peas and cabbage. The food came out quickly and definitely felt like a nice serving. I did a quick check in the car of what was the curry and was immediately excited about how it looked. I smelled it all the way back home 😮💨
With coming late and limited options (which granted coming in less than an hour before closing is on me), all my concerns went out the window when I got home and finally got to eat it. Omg was this food is delicious 😭 I had the curry and hubby had the stewed and we were both extremely happy with our meals. It’s still hot and fresh and I got it about an hour ago. We will absolutely be back and can’t wait to try the...
Read moreMy dine-in experience at the Hangover Social restaurant was an absolute delight! My husband and I were immediately immersed in the authentic Jamaican atmosphere, with reggae music setting the perfect mood throughout our meal. We started with their reggae wings and a Jamaican beef patty for appetizers, which set high expectations for what was to come.
I ordered the brown stew chicken with rice and peas and cabbage, while my husband opted for the salmon with the same sides. The food was incredibly authentic and bursting with flavor – truly the best Jamaican cuisine I've found in the area. The portions were so generous that we even had enough for leftovers to enjoy at home.
Our waitress, Abby, provided exceptional service, being both attentive and friendly throughout our visit. The combination of delicious food, generous portions, vibrant atmosphere, and excellent service made for a perfect dining experience. 10/10 – we'll definitely...
Read moreI had dinner at the Hangover Social Restaurant and Bar and I must say the food was delicious and beautifully prepared. The experience that made my visit a 3 star was the customer service. Abby was my waitress and she had a very bad attitude. She was rolling her eyes doing the service, mumbling things under her breath and it appeared as if she didn’t feel like working. She didn’t want to clear the dirty dishes from my table, while me and my friend sat and talked after eating. I asked her several times and she basically, LAUGHED in my face and REFUSED to clear the table. I had to say ‘ well I will go ask the owner to clear my table’ in order for her to remove the dirty plates. I drove 45 minutes to have dinner there, because of 1 reason only. It being black owned. That type of customer service can spoil an entire experience. So, I was sort of...
