My wife and I had breakfast here today. Our waitress was very attentive and brought us coffee refills often. The prices were very reasonable. The restaurant was very clean and decorated conservatively. The overhead tv was tuned to Fox news, which was a plus. Our eggs were prepared just right and fluffy. We weren't a fan of the seasoning on the potatoes though. My biscuits and gravy were okay but the biscuits were hard and not fluffy. The gravy was white with large chunks of sausage. I don't mind chunks of sausage, but wife wouldn't eat it. They should attempt to fashion their biscuits and gravy after Bob Evans or Cracker barrel. Can't beat theirs. They also need to offer Frank's hot sauce. Overall we we're glad that we tried them and will visit again. Update: My wife passed away in 2019 so it's been awhile since I dinned here. My friend Darryl had lunch here today, but I think it's under new ownership or something since my wife and I dinned her. We had to seat ourselves when we entered and get our own menus. Seems that the menu is approx half Mexican fare, which I don't think was what it once was. They have a very large menu and I'm sure you can find something on the menu to your liking. They seem to have a loyal following and the customers and staff carried on conversations the whole time we were there. Evidently the restaurant is will liked locally anyway. Darryl had the mushroom burger and fries along with a Mountain Dew. I had the tenderloin with fries and coleslaw.Water to drink. Darryl loved his burger and had no complaints at all. My tenderloin was mostly breading with what appeared to be a pork cutlet and somewhat stringy. I wasn't impressed at all. The fries were very good and the coleslaw the best I've had in a very long time. Nice and creamy with a very good taste. I've heard that they are famous for their breakfast and may return to give it a try. Need to keep the catsup bottles full. Two bottles we had ran out. Decor not much to look at inside or out, but customers continue to come and everyone seems to know one another and that should...
Read moreStopped in for lunch during our work day to meet my son. Only three other people in the place when we got there, but there were some dirty tables with tableware still on them, so probably had been busier sooner. Got our drinks fast and orders in right away. Took about 30 minutes to get our food and I had to ask for refills on our sodas. The food was delicious though and definitely worth the wait! I got the 50/50 Burger with fries and my son got the chicken panini with fries. The side of fries was well portioned on both plates, done to perfection, and the sandwiches were very flavorful! (I recommend getting the chipotle ranch sauce to dip your fries in.) A couple groups came in while we were eating, so we never got another refill. If the refills had been kept up on and the tables that were dirty when we got there had been cleaned up before we left I would easily have rated them a 5 star review. All in all a good place to eat, well worth the price, and we will definitely...
Read moreGreat food, fun atmosphere and extremely friendly service. In fact, everyone in the place was friendly. This was a very pleasant expression and we're so glad we found it. The food was unique. Think of it like the name, 50/50...Mexican is available and is delicious (we had the Nacho platter appetizer and I had Mole Enchiladas, but they also have your typical American items (special for the day was BBQ ribs/mac and cheese or walleye with fries). Husband had a 50/50 burger which was chorizo and a 1/4 pound burger on an artisan looking bun (he said it was fluffy and perfect). The burger came with avocado and pico de gallo, but hubby had them bring it on the side. The chorizo is milder than some I've tasted, but delicious. The chips on the nacho were homemade, the crema and cheese sauce were delicious. They also have an extensive breakfast menu, so we will be back...
