I really wanted to love this place but..
We have eaten here 4 times. 2 of the 4 times the food was messed up. The food is really good at times but the execution is very inconsistent. The first time I ate here I had the green chili and it was just like it used to be back home in Colorado in the 90s. I was thrilled to have good green chili so close. Since then the green chili has tasted different every time. Its devolved into some odd brownish sauce that definitely isn't green chili.
On a to-go order of chicken fajita salad, the cook literally left the chicken on the flat top for so long it was charred black on one side. I'm talking half thickness hard and charred..charcoal on one side. The cook then served it that way. Naturally, since it was a to-go order we didn't see it till we were home and had to toss it as it was simply inedible.
And yesterday we ordered veggie fajitas and specified no tomatoes. We told them multiple times we didn't want any tomatoes and was assured there wouldn't be. Of course, once we got the order home it was chocked full of cooked tomatoes which we couldn't separate out so it had to be tossed. In both cases no one bothered to check and see if the order was correct before sending it out.
This place has potential but its internal quality controls are non-existent. You would think the cook would have enough pride to not serve charred food or the waitstaff would bother to check orders before sending them out. After giving them multiple chances i'm done with them. I'll be going to Netties instead. They don't have great green chili but they also have yet to serve me charcoal or screw...
Read moreI have eaten here a few times in the 10 years I have lived in the area and it's always been a good place. Yesterday my son and I had dinner and I will not be back.
He ordered Huevos Rancheros and I had the Snapper Veracruz. The food was just bad. We each tried a few bites and didn't like it. I asked for the check and the waitress asked if liked the food and we simply said no and asked for the check. We didn't get mad or ask for anything to be removed from the check, we just didn't like it.
A gentleman came over and asked why. I said we just didn't like it. He began to tell us that the food is good and we were wrong for not liking it. He said that the Huevos Rancheros is always made that way even when i asked about it not having a tostada. He then told me that the snapper is one of their best selling and there is nothing wrong with it. I continued to just ask for the check, not asking for any money back.
The waitress provided the check, took my card, and then returned dropping it off without a word.
I am not sure why they were mad that we didn't like the food. It just wasn't good for us. I hope it is for others, but my 12 year old son and I got different food and both didn't...
Read moreOkay here we go. This is my sister's favorite restaurant in Bellevue Nebraska. I have to say I agree with her regarding some of the items. The margarita was the best I have ever had- And the posole was out of this world. It is the perfect blend of seasonings and it is served with tiny chopped onions jalapenos and lettuce. Actually the posole is lunch in and of itself. Do not forget to order this repeat do not forget to order this.
Now to the main entree. I ordered the Chimichanga with the Spanish rice and beans. I was extremely disappointed as the chimichanga had only ground beef and that was it. I did not want two pounds of sauteed ground beef for lunch wrapped in a flour tortilla for lunch.
The green chili was nothing more than a brown sauce in a light brown gravy. It had no pork in it and did not resemble Green Chile in any way.
I would never order the Chimichanga with ground beef ever again. I did ask the waitress why the chimichanga had only ground beef in it and she said that the cheese was on top. To top it off the ground beef was not even tasty. My sister loves one of the...
