Rosewood Restaurant — Restaurant in Bellingham

Having grown up in Bellingham, Ma literally a half mile down the road from Rosewood, I am quite familiar with them. Over the years the owners may have changed but the quality and quantity has not.

They have soft serve but prepare yourself they only have Kiddie, Small and Large. No medium. They have both soft and hard serve. The hard serve selection is pretty large and seems to carry every kind of Oreo like Peanut Butter Oreo and such. The soft serve has vanilla, chocolate and twist. Then on top you can have chocolate jimmies or rainbow. They also have dips like chocolate, cherry and I think Hot scotch. If you haven't had a dip, I recommend it. It's your favorite soft serve dipped in hot Chocolate (or other) that hardens when it dips in the ice cream!!

Usually there is a nice cozy place to sit down and eat but thanks to COVID that is closed. All outdoor ordering and a small picnic area to the left of Rosewoods if your facing the restaurant. The food has always been great. But the onion rings are top notch imo. Delicious. They also have all the classics like Lawbsta and Fried Clams (whole belly or not but this is New England go whole belly). They also feature hot dogs, burgers , grilled cheese and other stuff for non seafooders.

Finally, they have some awesome drinks. Be warned. We call a milk shake exactly that. Milk with flavoring mixed in. If you want ice cream mixed in you need to order a Frappe with your favorite ice cream. Then they are one of the only places around that offers a traditional Lime Rickey. Just order one. You will love it.

Honestly, I hate to give this place one star. I have many fond memories of going here even as a child. More often than not, bad criticism is better than compliments when someone can receive it. I am posting this in hopes that things will change. For starters, I have driven by this place daily for years and wondered how can a restaurant that serves food be able to just rip siding and a vapor barrier off and let it sit for years and years with snow and rain just having a good ol' time on the plywood sheathing for the ice cream window. Granted, recently tyvek has been installed but not properly and lacking in places. This in itself has forced me to not spend my money here. Today, my wife suggested we get chicken fingers and a small french fry. The website advertised $10 for the 7 piece chicken finger and $3 for a small french fry. I went in to pay after ordering over the phone and got a bill for $17.39. This price is a bit conflicting with the online pricing so I asked the manager and was told "oh yeah the website hasn't been updated in years" and asked if the price on the website would be honored and was almost laughed at. My next question was why have a website if you don't update it and I got basically no response. I just got my money back and went elsewhere. Been coming here for years. Prices are steep but they do give you good portions of seafood for the money tho. Would give 5 stars but the last two times here attitude at the window ordering was subpar. Both times from an older women with glasses and short hair. Very very unpleasant. Def should not be taking orders at the window. Spent 120 on food and another 20 on ice cream too get attitude kind of ridiculous. So today I go again order chicken sandwhich and it was raw and cold in the middle. Went in to get a money back but got attitude so then I said just make another one then cook mouthed off saying it was cooked but then he kept mouthing off so I refused the one he was cooking don’t want spit in the sandwich.
