Lone Star Tavern and Steakhouse & Catering is located on Bellmead Dr, right off Hwy 31 W. We've been to Lone Star Tavern and Steakhouse & Catering once before while passing through Waco and made it a point to stop in again on another trip through Waco. Ordering is really simple, from a large paper menu just circle the item's you'd like, that's it, that simple. And there's a reason their Waco's oldest steakhouse, the food is really good. This trip, our group ordered a couple Lonestar steaks, which is a 7 ounce Akaushi sirloin, with ranch style beans and a baked potato, chicken fried steak and chicken tender meal with fries. The steak was soo juicky and full of soo much flavor. And both the chicken fried steak and chicken tenders were cooked perfectly as well. Our server was very friendly and attentive. They have some cool wall hangings that are cool to look at. Come on in if you haven't yet, I'll be back the next time I'm passing through Waco again.

This was the first visit since I knew it was sold. So I don't know if it was sold again or not. Anyway, we did the cotton top early dinner think. We were driving into Waco and we were hungry and why not. First thing I notice it was nicer but it still have the same look and fell and you still filled out you own menu. We did the Saturday special Ribeye for 2, wife got grilled green beans and I got Steak veggies and we both got house salad and a beer. It's note your 5 star restaurant but the service was fast, friendly, Steak was tasty, could have been more rare but it's was yummy. We both agree the star of show the grilled green beans wow yuuuuuumy. The grilled favor went well the the beans. All in all, for sure it a stop by'er again for sure good buddy. Can't remember for sure but it was less than $50. I already deleted the photo but it's on here I added the caption Ribeye Steak for 2 and steamed veggies

We were looking for a place for our Anniversary and chose to try the oldest steakhouse in Waco. We had an amazing waitress Sydney who was so helpful and gave us great recommendations. We had the Ribeye for 2 which is two 10 oz ribeyes with salad and sides for two for $35 with two rolls. It is a lot of food for the price. The steaks were so tender and flavorful. You would not be disappointed with the food. The staff were so much fun. Especially Joni who was a sweetheart. We did try the brownie and it was okay. A little dry and a little burnt but that does not take away from the meal. Definitely a locals hangout and definitely worth checking out. You will love it 😀

I can remember coming to this place since I was younger, years ago but my experience here Saturday night 2/3/18 was less then good and the service from my waitress was less then polite did not feel very welcomed to be there. Me and my girlfriend both ordered the steak and shrimp thinking we would get what we paid for the waitress was anything but helpful with our order she made it seem like it was an inconvenience us showing up an hour before close? I ordered my steak medium my girlfriend ordered hers medium , well both of ours steaks were overcooked and dry. The waitress was unattentive not checking on us to see if we needed anything we were constantly having to look around to ask for drink or condiments. We were very disapointed it was sad that I bragged to my girlfriend about how awesome this place was only to be disappointed and hear her say she would never go there again. We tipped appropriately for the service we recieved. Do not remember the waitress name as she never introduced herself but she was older long hair glasses and a light blue shirt. This was the first time I had been here with this experience I am willing to give it another chance as I have been here several times and feel like this place is a historical landmark but there are to many competitive steak houses around for the owners not to do everything they can to make this place the best. Good luck guys hope you...

Made a call in order. Got it home, and opened it up, only to be displeased. Green beans were over seasoned, hamburger steak was supposed to be medium well (it was over well done), I understand getting meat perfect isn't easy but even with the au jus sauce, and super watery brown gravy it was very dry. Gravy was like soup. Mashed potatoes didn't taste right there was something slightly off with the taste. My sister called the restaurant to speak with a manager. She was transfered to Nikki. Nikki told her to speak up, so my sister spoke up louder, DID NOT YELL AT ALL, after their conversation Nikki said "you don't have to yell I heard you the 3rd 4th 5th and 6th time you said it". My sister explained TWICE about the food. Was TOLD TO SPEAK UP. Then was given a SUPER SHITTY attitude. So I took the phone and tried to speak with nikki to calm the situation and got hung up on after saying "no I think we're good" to getting something else in a MUCH quieter tone than my sister's first original statement. Nikki's customer service definitely needs work, coming from a fellow server and someone that's always worked in customer service you NEVER treat a customer the way you did. You keep your composure and the tone in your voice the same as when you first answer the phone. I hope other customers have a better experience but they will never get my business after witnessing this...
